Look of the day 081004

Seriously, I am in love with sweater dresses. They are comfy and cozy, and you can dress them up, or down as much as you want.

Truth re-opened his newly build sim yesterday, and he has a shop full of new, colourful clothes, as well as his impressive hair collection (newness there as well) with new, windlight loving textures. I’m not really into describing every single item that I stuffed my inventory with earlier today, let’s suffice to say that Truth has taken somewhat of a new direction with his fashion… more colourful, more funloving designs. I have always liked his work, ever since I first blogged him, but he’s been improving himself a lot lately, and what he’s making now is really my kind of casuals.

Fantasia Fantasy Clothier

Yesterday I found a note from Ryan with a picture attached and the IM “I can so see you in this gown… Teal perhaps?” Well, ever since I met Ryan when I started blogging for Second Style, he has been tipping me on things every now and then, and this guy just has a keen eye for great textures. So whenever he gives me a heads up, I usually follow up on that asap. Like last night. Fantasia is a shop I would not likely visit on my normal shopping trips. I’m not really into fantasy, Gor and other RP, and this shop just fits nicely in that category. On the other hand, I do realise that there are some amazingly talented designers in that niche. Like Dream Resistance, the creator of Fantasia Fantasy Clothiers.
In her shop a fair collection of fantasy attire. The teal decadence gown that I´m showing has a matching hood and veil so that it is a wonderful outfit for the free women of Gor. Now, wearing that is not my piece of cake, but the primwork, and the texture, and the slight middle east look and feel of the design, makes it a very lovely piece. The Court gown is a beautiful piece as well. the belt is a textured prim, not full prim, and sometimes i just like that better. I opted here for the full outfit, with the transparent undershirt and the lace collar, but you can play at will with the various layers. And again, great primwork, and lovely textures.
Fantasia Fantasy Clothier offers outfits for both men and women.
Other info: The hair is Sky Everett’s Sairawen hair (hair fair) and the skin is PXL Creations Linda Passion Make up (soon to be released)

This time of year drives me crazy. One day it’s downright cold, the next day blazing hot again. Summer is about over, but it takes some time for the fall to kick in. This look reflects it a bit for me. The dress is frilly and summery enough, but the jeans, boots and the lovely scarf make it more of a fall outfit.

Crate Digger

The new bag @ Kari rocks. Think you’re done spinning after the weekend, DJ? This is one of Menno’s multi texture items. Buy one, get 6 if you like. Or 12, since like most things at Kari Menno offers his items sized for both men and women in the same folder.

Lovely Zuwena

When 2 years ago I was wandering SL as a noobie, looking for a decent skin, I used to end up at the same shop all the time. And no… it was not Naughty, or Celestial, or any of the other big skin shops… somehow I kept ending up at Wisteria sim, where Mavis McGettigan had her shop Skinflicks. I’d used to look at the ads, try a demo or two, and be so disappointed when those skins just wouldn’t look good on me. Back then, ofcourse, I had little knowledge about how to make best use of the sliders to change your shape. We’re really talking noob here. But more recently, when I discovered Mavis’skills on clothes making, I also rivisited her skinshop, and still… no luck.

So when yesterday I did receive a pack of skins from Ms McGettigan, I was a bit anxious to try them on. After all… it was not like I had never tried those skins before… but… Zuwena is different… she actually looks very cute on me… so cute that I wanted to go up to my studio and take some photos of it. Aside from the face (I always complain people pay only attention to the face and ignore flaws on the body when they review skins, so let’s not be guilty of that myself) Zuwena has a well toned body, of which I admit I like the shading on the back better than on the front of the body. There is no lack of detail however, all bodyparts are well defined.

Anyway, I had a lot of fun making photo’s with this skin, and I hope Mavis will make more skins that fit my shape (hint hint).

Persephone

Persephone is the latest addition to the vast skinrange at Adam ‘n Eve, and I think that Sachi really outdid herself on this one. Not only does she have a very pretty face, but her body… it is… yeah… hot. Smooth, with an exquisite shading and excellent high lights. I took some portrait photos, but really, do yourselves a pleasure and go try at least a demo. For the Adam ‘n Eve update group members the skins of the first set are currently available at half price in the secret room.

Rosemary Galbraith and Mimi Coral at M&R Cupcakes have new additions to their skinlines AND are having a sale… the Birthdaysuit skins are 50% off at L$ 500 and the new skins are only L$ 800 (20% off) til this weekend.

Having said that, I went totally broke on their new skins. Although one brand, the ladies have been working separately on these new additions. Plush is Rosemary’s new brain child and Magazine is the latest creation from Mimi.
Here are some photos (yeah.. I’m showing off my latest buys)

Kin Favourites

Kin Favourites, originally uploaded by Grazia Horwitz.

After having been bald for a month, it’s good to have some hair back. Kin is always one of the hairmakers I keep going back to. Just love her styles and textures.

And yes.. I still like black hair best on me, sue me for not showing her other delicious colours 😛

Look of the day (18/08/08)

Summertime, originally uploaded by Grazia Horwitz.

Ok.. it’s yesterday’s look really, but as I was going through my inventory, trying to get some order back in the clutter and deleting and boxing up some old stuff, this dress from Marly’s struck me again. So I matched it with a straw hat from Icon, and a pair of old mary jane clogs from Shiny Things for the rural look and feel and headed off to the Far Away for some photos.

Elizabeth@ Tuli

Tuli Asturias was kind enough to send me a set of the skin that she will release later today, the lovely Elizabeth, which is a tribute to Callie Joubert.

Instead of writing up yet another skin review, I decided to take a series of portraits of these skins. Hope you like them.

YIPPED

Mark that date in your busy agenda’s! And watch The Qube’s blog for more information. Raffa… thanks for getting Four to exhibit at your gallery!

Pose Sale @ Grapevine

Ok, so here is the deal… I’ve been such a slacker… and therefore I have lowered all the prices of the poses in my shop. Single poses for 50 L$ (instead of L$ 65) and fatpacks for 250 L$ (instead of L$ 500)!

I intend to leave them that way til I can get myself motivated to finish the poses I have in the making. So come grab some stuff while it’s cheap!!!

Enjoy your weekend!

NB: for the duration of the sale, it will not be possible to redeem giftcards.

Le Salon

Noooooo worries.. not another review.. not twice a day… just a quick post for comparison’s sake. I’ve seen Moire Georgette’s new skin from Le Salon a couple of times on the feed these days, and I thought I’d add to the party, because these hand drawn skins look so different on different shapes (They don’t have a lot of shading in the face, so they are not “overriding” your shape).
Chic Aeon blogged an update on the hunt that is currently going on at Le salon/Comme Il Faut and showed photos of a friend looking totally different in these skins, and Diamonde’s Valena Glushenko, with one of the most outspoken looks I know of, did the same the other day on The Lady and The Tramp.

Evolution…
