I enjoy reading blogs, and I enjoy getting to know new designers through the blogs of fellow fashionistas. Like Elemiah Choche, covered a few weeks ago. The post made me put her shop on my to-do list and I bought some of her designs. I think we have a talented new designer here. She really makes cute things. Talented.. and also a tad arrogant… not open to feed back.. and not living up to promises…..

O.o… Grazia is starting a rant? Uhm.. yes.. I suppose you could say that. What happened… I saw this really pretty lace dress… called accurately Pretty. Look.. this is a shot of the vendor in Elemiah’s shop. Cuteness….

But this is what I saw once I put it on… oh rage… o désespoir…. such ugly seams on such a pretty dress. In shock I IMmed the creator, as well as the blogger. Blogger in shock too.. she in fact had not noticed it because she had been covering another outfit, lacy as well… but in a grey colour and thus less visible. And then the creator came back to me…. No no.. it was not a flaw.. it is intentionally with the holes under the arm… and she had not had any complaints of many other customers. I told her I could have understood that if the front of the seam was sculpted like the back of the seam, but that this looks to me like a ready made texture fit on the template. So she said she’d add a photo to the vendor of the under arm so that people could at least see what they were buying, she sent me an “I’m sorry you are disappointed” gift and that was it.

Ok.. really… what you do with the feedback that I offer you, is up to you ofcourse, especially if unsollicited… and maybe reviewing fashion and skins for as long as I have been doing makes me über anal on seams issues and such… but, I just cannot believe that people are so blind that they don’t see this…. or that they like it when they see it… so getting no complaints… that doesn’t automatically mean that people are satisfied. More likely they just delete the outfit and don’t even bother to contact the creator… but most likely… they will not shop there again too… and I wonder… Is that the kind of clientbase you want to establish as a creator?

For a time I just let it go… until today I decided to go check up on the shop and see what was new (because really… she does make nice things too… I picked up the sassiest charleston dress there) and in the meantime decided to look at the altered vendor… including the photo she said she would add. And which she didn’t, as you can see above… I shot this photo just 30 minutes ago. I just don’t think it is fair to sell a dress with an obvious issue like this, and not show it to your clients… it may be only L$ 250… but according to me… it’s L$ 250 too much.

Like these cute summer dresses.. that totally make me want to go for drinks after work, sit on one of the terraces of the little Amsterdam cafés, watching the people pass by in alll sorts of boats on the canals. Or better… call a few friends, and bring some rosé and rent a boat to go for an evening of boating the 17th century canals of our capital.. ok.. enough rambling, on to the outfit:

[UPDATE] Giftcards are not redeemable with items that are on sale.

A couple of weeks ago Truth Hawks invited me to set up a shop at his sim, and today I finally finished. Oh well… I also redid the vendor photos, and I released 3 new shapes, of which one for the guys!!!

To celebrate, I have marked down all pose sets and shapes (including the new stuff) to 50%, only for this weekend and only at the new Shop at Truth (to the right of Truth’s shop). Before I log off on my Sunday evening (GMT+1) I will restore the original prices. Single poses are not included in the sale.

Piccies of the new shapes:

[Update 080630] I have removed my items from SLounge. Still a nice place to hang out though 😛

Hiyas! I just finished setting up a new shop at SLounge, which is a cozy and laid back club to hang out and dance with your friends.

My poses are there, and I’ve put the Parfait freebie shape out again for a limited bit not jet determined period of time. Now if only I can find enough freetime to finish the tons of new poses that are in the making…..

My main shop is located at Rue d’Antibes. Over there you’ll also find my other shapes.

Look of the Day

I’ve not been posting a lot of outfits lately… basically because I’ve been too busy with other things, but today I was checking out some shops, and I just felt like dressing up a bit.

Linda Dark, pink lips dark eyes by Hart Larsson @ PXL Creations
Vexed hair by Imani Moseley @ Fetish Boutique
Gisaci Lima Trenchcoat Verde by Juju Armidi @ Armidi
Demi Cami (tinted) by Nephilaine Protagonist @ Pixeldolls (not found in the shop… tintable tops in general are ideal to match in outfits)
Gisaci Dalia Pump Cerise by Lola Marquez @ Armidi
The Heiress purse by CJ Carnot @ Fleur
Kau’i disc jewelry by Lucas Lameth @ Earthtones Boutique (earrings from the set, layered necklace sold separately)
(Shape by me, work in progress, not released for now).

Speaking of the Kau’i set… I just had to include a close up… look at the shadow!! No, not the shading.. the shadow…. this necklace casts the subtlest shadow on my chest. Lucas has been experimenting again and.. it works out so well!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

[EDIT] I should sleep more… it’s the 19th today… so… grab it while you can…. til tomorrow that is

Wow! Last week literally hundreds showed up at my tiny shop to look for the red stick with some free stuff that I have hidden in there. I have talked to so many of you and it was so nice to hear how much fun it has been, and how people have discovered content creators that so far they didn’t know at all, or never thought made things that they would like.

Anyways, it’s the 20th today, and that means that this will be the last day that you can hunt for the sticks gridwide and collect litterally tons of free stuff for your entertainment.

I would like to thank Laynie Link for the incredible amount of work that she has put into this and I hope her days as a volunteer at the RL festival in Baton Rouge have been as much fun as the whole experience in-world.

With all the attention RFL is getting (and I’m very glad it does!), you’d almost forget that within our community there are more initiatives to support and aid residents who have serious health issues in RL. Yesterday friend and photographer Rob Danton pointed out the Dreams Community Fair, which runs til April 25. It’s a fun site, with rides, info booths, some pretty nifty builds and some really fun freebies.

This is from their own introductory note card:

“For the third year in a row, we are inviting you to be a part of our effort to introduce the people of SL to some of the lesser known areas of Second Life, particularly in the areas of health support, education and the Arts.

The Dream Travelers of Dreams are the activity base and support group for a community of stroke survivors in SL as well as people who are interested in Asperger Syndrome and Autism.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?* We will have booths and tents available to groups to show off their organizations through their products, information sheets, landmark givers, etc.. * Each group is encouraged to schedule at least one activity during the fair to be held on the Dreams Fair grounds. These activities can take the form of:
– Classes
– Discussions
– Meetings or Group Activities
– Group Recreational Activities such as dances and competitions.
– Story-telling, poetry readings, art demonstrations, ballet, live performances, concerts, etc.

We have three art barns to hold various forms of art. This is a Fair to show the diverse range of groups available in SL not products. However, we do encourage the groups to give our free items to the general public.
If you feel that a group you belong to should be involved in the fair then please let us know!! everyone is welcome in the community project!

We would love if you would display the sign included in this info folder on your property this would help us immensely in getting the word out about the fair!
Thank you very much.We will look forward to seeing you at the Fair!

Travelers”

Go take a look, you might be surprised!

MOVED

New landmark…..new stuff.. same sim.. same red stick treasure hunt.. still no photos of the new poses…. ooooooh…. bad Grazia…. /runs off for coffee and other RL stuff

Hey people… there is a red stick hidden in my shop throughout this week with some new stuff. Come and get it. Go the the Red Stick International Animation Festival HQ to pick up your list with participants and gear up for some serious hunting. It’s huge… over 50, shops grid wide, are hiding red stick(s) in their shop with free things. The hunt was supposed to last this weekend only, but since it became so big, and you do have Real Lives too… it will be on all week long.

So while you’re there.. try some of the new poses that I’ve uploaded. The grid has not been exactly stable… so photos will follow through the weekend, but there are some new poses that I am pretty proud of, including some crouches that I made upon request of my friend Carl Crabe that were used in a group photo for the skin fair closing show. As usual, singles are on sale for L$ 65, and the set for L$ 500 (buy it from the “new”prim above the vendor)

Posh Pride… OMG!!

Dunno if I’m totally running after everyone else now… but I have just found this blog that I instantaneously fell in love with. Hard. Posh Pride.

From their “About”page… :

Deserve Fashion or die… Because Fashion does not need you.

Don’t follow the trend : create it… Because being trendy takes so much time that when you reach the trend, it’s already oldfashioned.

And please, don’t think being “blonde with a huge breast” is all you need…
Everything is a matter of taste… and Posh Pride is a question of life and death in this ugly world.

We’re professional models, we’re not here to please you, but just to show you through some posts what mixing clothes means, and how you can always create a trend even with old things… and thanks to our advices and gossips, we sincerely hope you’ll find your own inner Posh… Proud to be fashionable, proud to be feared, proud to be posh.

Says it all really. It’s well written, great photography and some pretty nice outfits.

Serendipity

With all the newness that hits the grid on a daily base, one would almost forget about the incredibly skilled designers that have been working in SL for a lot of time, and giving their best to the community. Last night as I went to a little impromptu event over at Sue Stonebender’s Comfort & Joy log cabin, it struck me again that she is one of those people that quietly works, makes awesome things, gives a lot to the community and is never featured on the blogs. Never? Well…… not like never ever… but hardly ever…. so I decided to dig into my inventory and see what Serendipity goodies I have in there that are nice to share with you.

Sue’s designs are mostly great classics… (emerald cut) diamonds, and other precious stones and pearls combined with excellent metal textures. But she also has a nice section of celtic and contemporary jewelry that won’t disappoint you.
Above is the Estate jewelry, emerald cut sapphires adorned with brilliant diamonds. The pendant is on a string of antique ivory pearls, that wonderfully drop down your back. The sapphire does have a touch for on/off sparkle. It is available with a lot of different gems.
This photo shows the Chatelaine set. The Chatelaine is one of the most classic pearl sets that you can imagine… a pearl choker with a teardrop pearl pendant… and teardrop pearl earrings.
The Evangeline is more of a show off. An elaborate pendant of birthstones (scripted for changing) encrusted in diamonds. The earrrings come in different versions. I remember picking these because I think they look awesome on a sleek evening gown, as sole jewelry, so without the necklace or anything. Wearing the full set I feel over accesorised. But hey… for the photo it is ok.
The skin is Rosemar’s latest addition to the collection, in espresso. Don’t know whether Rosemary has released them already, but if not.. they should be shortly. The hair is ETD’s Tyra in ebony.

Greetings everyone. When a couple of weeks ago I was talking to Neferia Abel of Ivalde, one of my fave vintage designers, she brought up her wish for Twiggy inspired poses for some 60’s and 70’s clothes that had been in her mind. Now Twiggy being kinda, err.. twiggy and her signature poses being quite extreme, that posed an extra challenge. I told you before that what looks really good and edgy on a RL model, can be awful in SL and make an avatar look horribly tortured. But in the end, I have managed to make some translations (there must be another word for that, but I just don’t know it) of some of her poses and put them together in a set called Bond Street.
As usual the single poses are available at Grapevine in Rue d’Antibes for L$ 65, and the set of 10 poses for L$ 500.

I made a composition to show them to you…. but I realised too late one pose is missing… There’s really 10 in the set.
