OK… one more Paper Couture based outfit, and then I’ll resume business as usual. I used most of the Nightengale set, but I matched it with the black high waist trousers from Muism and the silver Tuli pumps from Shiny Things (yes… they are my favourite right now… can you tell?) The gorgeous pink pearls are soon to be released at Luc Fashion Jewelry. The hair is ETD’s Laine (hairband dyed) and the skin is MMS Roma light make up 2
.. that is my current balance state after an impromptu shopping spree at Paper Couture. Thank you, Lucas, for making me spend way more than I planned. The fall 2008 collection is out and it is plethora of colours and feathers. This dark purple/grey Learning Suit (including the belt) struck me and I’m wearing it with the Tuli pumps from Shiny Things, the Citrine Dangles and the Everbloom ring, also from Paper Couture. The hair is Sally from Panache, by Zyrra Falcone (honestly, it’s blonde, but I dyed it) and the skin is Fleur Allure China Perish 3.

Just in time for Hallow’s Eve the group notice reached me that Fleur has a new skintone out. Originally made for Hyasynth Tiramisu, this paler than pale skin tone just now hit the shop, with tons of special make ups. As you are used to with Fleur, each make up comes in 3 different colours, so when I say that Roslin made 6 make ups for this skin tone, you know there are 18 to choose from.
These skins are available in the Fleur main store, and as of tomorrow, they will also be for sale at Hya’s Silent Sparrow.
Ok, I’m rambling, it’s time to go to bed, and I have more skin news in the making. That will have to wait til tomorrow though.

Sometimes an element in a previous outfit triggers a next one… Yes, I’m an associative dresser… sue me. In this case, it was a combination of things. I simply love the copper leggings that I was wearing since yesterday, and then Viola Leigh, who creates shoes for Redgrave, sent me some of her latest creations, among which these Polar boots that match perfectly with the leggings (also see Anessa’s blog for more of Viola’s recent work) While these beauties are called boots, it’s more like a pair of awesome peeptoe stilettos with matching legwarmers, but you really have to wear them together (since the legwarmer start on the shoe attachment). The matching arm cuffs really add to the look. The dress is one of my favourites this season It’s Adam ‘n Eve’s Clement and since it comes on all necessary layers, it’s the most versatile sweaterdress one can wish for. Callie Cline’s weathered brown fat belt completes the outfit. The necklace that I’m really adoring is from Dela, as are the earrings. The skin is the Ghost hunt freebie from MMS and the hair is Truth‘s Elizabeth 2

First and foremost, I’d like to congratulate Tigerlily Koi on the occasion of the second birthday of Calla. A lot has happened over the last 2 years, and I’m thrilled to see you still around and stronger than ever.
Now onto the party details. Sunday November 2nd, from 6-9 pm. DJ’s Gwen Carillon and Bianca Darling will make sure you can’t hold your feet still (in both worlds). Als always, Tiger is known for her generosity and aside from throwing a big party, she has found some top designers in SL willing again to make some special gifts for the Calla that will be available exclusively at the birthday celebrations (I still wear a lot of the gifts from last year’s birthday bash). You don’t want to miss out on this. See you there!

So I figured, why waiting til tomorrow to post today’s look?
I started with Archange‘s soon to be released Georgina babydoll, and then grabbed Barerose‘s über cute jeans jacket from the Nora outfit. Because it’s rather chilly today i picked the Xanadu copper leggings from Truth, which perfectly matches the colours in the skirt. I finished it off with the beige linen scarf from Creamshop and the snug classic moccas boots from Armidi‘s Gisaci. The earrings are from Dela, the skin is Roma from MMS and the hair is Collette, by Truth

Last week Roberta Beauchamp shared a photo on Plurk (highly addictive, mucho fun), of some pretty new things she made and yesterday I finally went to pick things up. The raspberry cocktail skirt started this outfit. The top is really a piece of lingerie, but I love it as a bodice, it’s the Chiara di Luna from Intimizzio at Armidi. The collar is from MAIIKI‘s strapless & patent dress and the fishnets are from Down Undies. The shoes are from fuel and the Kau’i Disc jewelry is made by Luc. The skin is the Bootleg Annie collab (get it before Halloween is over!) from Starley Thereian and the hair is Katy, the latest release at Truth.

When I saw the amazing scarfs over at Creamshop, I knew I wanted them. They are so beautiful that if the fatpack would have been a slightly better deal, I would have ruined my L$ balance for it. A girl can never have enough scarfs.
I kept the rest of the outfit elegantly simple with the glamtank from Michami, and the black E.M.A. black jacket. The white jeans are from Celestial Studios and the billow boots are by Maitreya. The necklace is Cross My Heart from Fuel, and the silver bamboo earrings are from Creamshop. The hair is ETD’s latest, Vasha and the skin is my favourite Bijou make up from SLink

I think I told you way back already, I have a thing for plaid and checkers and such. So when the other day I was at Aoharu, I couldn’t resist this cute madras onepiece. I teamed it up with Launa Fauna’s good old Isabeaux leather pants and Maitreya’s red suede Dune boots. The Lushwood jewelry from Luc (necklace re-attached to spine) finishes this cozy outfit off. The skin I’m in is La Sylphide’s Ingrid (this week on sale, 50% off!!) and the hair is Dance-a-thon 2005 from George Street.

Before the wind started blowing late last night, this Saturday was one of those beautiful sunny fall days, with splendid rich colours all around. I love the combination of the warm browns with turquoise, so this tunic from Nyte Caligari @ Nyte ‘n Day laid the base for a casual Saturday look. The torn jeans are from the New School collab @ Kari and made by Torrid Midnight. The shoes are by Tesla. Belt and jewelry are from Siddean Munro at SLink. The skin is a custom from Charlotte Morellet @ Soda (visit http://www.sodaskins.com/ to order your own) and the hair is my absolute new fave from Truth.

The latest addition to Siddean Munro’s skin collection at SLink is a lovely Asian face. Miyu comes in 4, slightly desaturated, skintones (I bought my skins in fair, which is the 2nd lightest tone). I think my absolute favourite make up is the one with the glossy red lips and the blush high on the cheeks, that gives it a very youthful look, but there are 12 make ups per skin tone at this point. the highlights on the lips tend to be slightly pixeled in close up. But all in all, it is just a beautiful face.
The body is the same as on the previous Bijou skin, It has a lot of highlights, which either you like or not. I don’t think it’s exagerated, but it does have a very glossy look to it. It has a nice body definition. A well defined rib cage and a hint of abdominals. I’m not a huge fan of the nipples on this skin, I feel that they would look better if the aureola blended a bit more in with the skin, but that is personal ofcourse. Miyu has a cute behind and lovely hands and feet (!). I did spot a few faint seams on the legs. That might be something to work on for another release. It’s not very obvious, it requires a lot of zooming.
The skin come with a separate “pubes pack” in various tintable shapes, the fatpacks also contain as a mani/pedi pack as an extra prezzie.
Separates sell for L$ 1200. A set of 3 sells for L$ 2800 and a set of four is available for L$ 3100

This outfit started whit Luc’s Kahto choker. We were talking about an extra gem to ad to these sets, and I suggested him a Tiger’s eye. I love the warm golden brown of this stone. He made a tiger’s eye texture, and it looks so pretty on this piece. It made me want to pair it up with more rich colours, and since it’s pumpkin time, this top from Kit Maitland just suited me fine, and I found a matching purse at Cachet as well. The classical bob hair is from Zerlinda Boucher, who is quite new at hair making, but who has some pretty cute styles out by now. Oh well, and while I’m describing today’s outfit anyway, the new Tuli pumps by Fallingwater Cellardoor from Shiny Things made me squee and buy the whole lot sans thinking. The trousers are the black high waist trousers from Muism, and the lace top is part of the Phoenix sweater dress from Celestial Sudios. The skin is Elka, from Chai

While on a random shopping spree yesterday, I ended up in this gloomy sim, following a link from Willis’ blog. There I found this lovely, eerie broken doll skin, that I just couldn’t resist and which made the base for this outfit. As I said last night to my friend, I just think I look friggin’cute like this in a odd kind of undead way. Might use it again for a Halloween party or so.
Dress: Dirty Snow by Ghost (currently as a dollarbie @ Free Style)
Boots: Old Laceup Boots in black, by Shiny Things
Choker: Chain choker in midnight red by Torico
Tatoo: Blood Tatoo by Den Dou
Skin: Broken Doll skin by Shadow Things
Hair: Helena by Lash Xevious (not available any longer)

A lot of people have talked already about the latest addition to the Fleur skin family, but I still feel I can add to it. Fleur skins belong to my favourites in SL, I joined when they had their second skin in the Tête à Pied shop, and managed to get a hold of their very first ones when they were still available at gNubie. I followed the development of Vivant, and have pretty much all of them, as well as Boutique and Shouju. The idea that Roslin and CJ had, to add a 4th, more photorealistic, skin to their collection made me bounce. I love the smooth perfection of their mainly handdrawn bodies, and I was so anxious to see how a more photorealistic Fleur skin would work out. And I have not been disappointed.
Allure comes in 6 new skintones (from left to right: ivory, alabaster, truffle, cinnamon, caramel and sable) and like we may expect from Fleur, a vast range of make ups, varying from barely there, to in-your-face gorgeous. What I really like with Fleur, as opposed to some other popular brands, is that they offfer every make up on every skintone. It has happened so often that I see a make up that I love… but then it’s not available in my preferred skin tone. Fleur‘s creators adjust the make up to every skintone, so slightly more saturated for the darker skins, and less intense for the lighter skin tones. So far so good for the versatility of Allure, on to the details.
And there are plenty of details in this skin. As usual there are the mod eyebrows, and the pubic hair in different colours on the panty layers. And then, on many a make up Roslin has drawn eyelashes, that are so sweet that you don’t really need your system lashes (well, who needs them anyway, since they usually dont look good) but you can do without prim lashes as well… or opt for the very subtle ones that Miriel has in her shop. The mouth on Allure is quite different from the previous Fleur skin, so you might need a little tweaking of your shape, but once you get it right, you’ll notice the lovely plump lips and the pixelfree medusa ( sorry, I just hate visible pores err, pixels on my upper lip).
The body has great and subtle detailing. The clavicle stands out, as do the nipples. The breast shading as a whole deserves an A+ as far as i’m concerned, and looks good on both small breasted shapes and the more curvaceous frames. The abdomen on Allure is more defined too.. the upper ribs show vaguely, and there is a definition of muscularity on the tummy, still without the 6 days a week crunches look, which only makes RL me feel guilty for not having the same look. The whole body has subtle highlights that give her a more 3d look than the previous skins. On the back you’ll find about the most perfect shoulderblades made in sl so far, as well as the dimples on the lower back that I simply adore. The knees and elbows look good on this skin too, and when you look at the skin for a while, really focus, it sometimes has a slightly blue shimmer on the places where a human skin would be thinner, showing the veins under the skin, without becoming an anatomical lesson.
Incredible attention has been given to our so often neglected pixel subjects. The feet. In this world where female avatars run to get shoes with prim toes because their pixel feet just look hideous, CJ has worked endlessly to make the feet and toes look as good as they possibly can in SL. And for those of you who like to emote… Fleur’s teeth got a make over with the introduction of Vivant… and they still are the brightest pearly whites in SL.
Whereas Vivant fitted practically every avatar like a glove, Allure has more of a character of her own. I guess that just is the consequence of photorealism, it’s a little less forgiving than a mainly drawn skin. So what I would really recommend you to do is to get the demos first and play with your shape sliders to obtain the best look for your avatar. Often there is no need for drastic changes, just a but of tweaking will do. Besides, Fleur offers the demos for free, and they are transferable as well.
