I know! I know I’ve worn Tesla’s Kensington boots paired with shorts just the other week…but I really like the combination. And when Twiggy Whippet, of Whippet & Buck, sent me these cute shorts… the boots were on before I knew it. The Stein shorts, worn in Van Cleef here, will be available once they open their new shop on Imogen, but in the meantime there are a few items in their small shop at Festivale. I’m wearing them here with Armidi’s white Cambridge shirt and Maitreya’s brown long scarf. The jewelry I’m wearing is from Shiny Things’ Florina set.

I picked Boon’s UEJ006 hair in chocolate and PXL Creations’ Grace in sunkissed, with the beautiful new wine lipcolour.

It’s sad, really, that sometimes I only remember a content creator when I hear they are going to close. Like in this case Jonquille Noir, from Little Rebel. Little Rebel used to be one of my fave adresses when I came to SL.Jonquille has a huge collection and was totally affordable even for my newbie wallet. But then you discover the huge and ever increasing variety of content… and those trusted places fade.. Not nice.. So today’s outfit is with one of the items thet I picked up at the sale at Little Rebel.Everything is marked down to 25 L$!

I’m wearing Jonquille’s black and pink floral wrap dress with the über classic white broadcloth blouse from Coco and the pink leather sash belt from Fleur. I’ve tinted the sand Mraz scarf from Decoy to match the pink of the dress and picked the black pearl ring from Paper Couture (which was a 2007 jewelry fair exclusive) as sole piece of jewelry. When I was looking for the right shoes to wear, I rediscovered the lovely enchant peeptoe shoes from Maitreya, which, much like Little Rebel, were kinda lost in the depths of my inventory (the shoes, not Maitreya itself)

Bonjour Operator from Lamb! in Pale is my hair today, and I’m still wearing Aden’s Gen4 (fair, make up 7)

Aden’s gen4

Aden Gen4_ed

Aden is one of those skin designers that I have been following for a while, and although I did find the skins interesting before, they never really worked for me. They have a frail beauty which I adore seeing on others, but somehow when I put them on it  always felt out of place. That has definitely changed with the release of Gen4.

So, am I about to start pooping rainbows now? Nope, because I do think there are some issues to this skin. Does that change that I like it a lot? Nope… not one single bit or I would not have bought multiples… so read on…

All the blonde and the soft colours I’ve been in the last couple of days need balancing and so I looked for something fun and colourful. Fun and colourful is synonymous to Stitch by Stitch to me, so I decided to check what’s going on at Sevenstar Amat’s shop and picked up this happy fall coat, even though by now we’re close to spring. I had to adjust my shape for it, since it’s basically a no hip prim skirt, but I still love it. I’m wearing it with the white glam tank from Michami, and the capri’s from Last Call’s The Heiress Suit (not available any longer). The red scarf from Cream shopand Cailyn Miller’s long dropheart necklace are the finishing touches to this outfit, as are my favourite suede black Verve pumps from Maitreya.

I’m wearing the latest at PL Creations, Grace in sunkissed with lucious red lips and the dark eye make up, and my hair is Boon’s Era 801 in black.

I feel so spoiled… so many great new system skirts lately… This new set from Michami has an almost stern, futurist, strong look, but is also deadly feminine and sexy. It really doesn’t need a lot to create a unique look with, but for the occasion i’m teaming the cream Anoorea blouse and skirt with the thin electro belt from Kyoot Armi, the crimson gloves from Fleur and the Rose Florette pumps from Truth. The diamond bee necklace is from the 2007 Spring collection from Paper Couture, the diamond encrusted ring is from Paper Couture as well, and the black Paula glasses, which add some real contrast to the outfit, are from Artilleri.

Like many a blogger I’m infatuated with Maitreya’s new Piper II hair, wearing the ash blonde here, and I’m wearing Grace in the soon to be released sunkissed skintone from PXL Creations.

The new highskirts at Maitreya with the beautifully crafted prim high waist belt were an instant fave. I’m wearing the lovely mauve Blossom and paired it with the top and shrug of Paper Couture’s Nightengale set. The shoes are Shiny Thing’s Tuli pumps and the jewelry is from Caroline Apollo (XOXO Walldorf necklace and XOXO trio diamond earrings).

I picked Truth’s Victoria hair again, in Barley (it’s still available and all proceeds are going to the Victorian Bushfire Relief) and my Grace skin from PXL Creations.

Grace

Well, a lot has happened since I first met Hart Larsson, late December 2007. Not only have we become friends, he has also involved me intensively in the development of his skin lines. Sometimes he has driven me nuts, sending me proto type after proto type, beta after beta, with sometimes as much as 1 pixel difference from the previous… “But LOOK, Grazia…. I changed the collarbone…….” “Hart…WHAT did you change???” “aaaarghh…. that pixel to the left that annoyed me, of course!” Uhm.. yeah…  <chuckles> Luckily I often got my revenge, sending him back to the drawing board over a pixel or 2 as well, which must have driven him crazy at times… we’re both not easily satisfied I suppose.  The result is that I do strongly identify with PXL Creations skins, I have seen them come to be from the very first upload, til the end result and I know them like…well.. I know them like my RL skin.

So for Grace, the upcoming release at PXL Creations, I thought it might be fun to share some of the beta’s from the whole drawing process. Some, because like I said before, I think I have over 30 of them, all slightly different. To the far right there is the first beta that can actually be determined as an early Grace which Hart sent to me mid November. As you can see, she  has no eye brows yet, and still has the mouth of old Crys for the time being. The second (I think it’s v12 or 13 in the whole process) got me all excited. Not only did she get her own lovely mouth, but Hart gave her freckles…body freckles… tiny, lovely, girly freckles all over the completely re-modeled body. I should also tell you that Hart likes to play with belly buttons… I think in the process of creating Grace, he has shown me about 8 different navels, not to mention all the other changes he kept making to the body.

The third beta in this photo is the first one he sent me with a make up test. He was still fiddling with the mouth, adding highlights and texture to give it more depth. By then we are in January.  The development process of Grace got interrupted several times, for the holidays, but also to help out and make a special for Heart of Love, which basically was a mix of Linda and Grace, and later being asked to contribute to the Digital Alchemy event from Rezzable, which  brought Efe to the grid before Grace was finished. But the 2nd skin from the left is the final nude face for Grace. By then Hart finally was happy with her, and I coudn’t think of another pixel that I would prefer to see in a different position. That was about a week ago.

From then for Hart started the tedious work of adding all the make ups, the different brows (black/red-brown and blonde) and the freckles, of which you see a sample to the left (dark eyes and the new flamenco lips). The photography of the vendors, which is something that I used to do for him on occasion, but thanks to my crap computer is not feasible at  this point and of course the creation of all demos, which is a chore that he hates. Yesterday Hart was loading vendors, so I think that somewhere later this week, if RL permits, Grace will be released. Continue Reading »

Jeans and peacoats…it’s a classic, what can I say. I gave it a little twist today with the Gribon Peee coat and Maitreya’s new Cleo jeans skirt and LeLutka’s Dietrich shirt. I really like the over the knee bf socks from Worldwide Industries and with the Ving bootsin Oxblood fromShiny Things, they are not too Lolita-ish. The maroon arm warmers from Maitreya are finishing the outfit.

I’m wearing Aden’sbeautiful new Gen 4 skin in dark tan (Naked)and Maitreya’s Chloe hair in chocolate.

Yep, I’ve made a More Than Meets the Eye Fashion Challenge Flickr group. I love making outfits, and I used to do reader style at Second Style for a while, which I’ve always found very inspiring.  So I wanted to do something involving the readers of my blog, which is an ever increasing number. Thank you for that.

So… what is the idea… From the outfits that I make, I pick 1 item every other week, which can be clothes, or shoes, hair, accessories, skin.. anything that I have been using, and I challenge you to get creative with that item.

lotd090213

For starters I’ve picked the high waisted skirt from Whippet&Buck, of which currently all proceeds are going to the Victorian Bushfire Relief. If you follow my blog, you know that I am a total fan of a good system skirt,  because it’s elegant and versatile and (not unimportant if you plan on attending tonight’s date auction at 7Ultra for above mentioned charity) it’s no prim!

Anyway, I’m rambling. Every challenge will run for 2 weeks, you may submit 5 photos every week and the winner will be featured on this blog and will receive a small cash prize (L$500). As you see, it’s just for the fun of it.  Post editing is allowed, even encouraged, as long as the photos are still about the clothes.

Looking forward to seeing you participate.

Today’s look is “build” around the glasses and the cardigan that Antonia Marat offers as a welcome gift to the members of her update subscribe- o- matic. Antie used to have a regular SL group for her shop Artilleri, with over 3,000 members, but it got eaten by SL, and LL for now has no idea if they are ever going to be able to bring that group back. So, to help get the word out: GO TO ARTILLERI AND SUBSCRIBE!!!! No really…. Antonia is a doll and it really sucks that after 3 years she has to start all over with what basically is her recorded client base. And of course, the welcome gift is just plain cute! I’m wearing the gift cardigan with a high waisted skirt from Whippet & Buck, currently available at Savvy?, of which all proceeds will go to the Victorian Bushfire Relief fundraiser. The scarf is Mraz Midnight from Decoy and the shoes are Armidi‘s Dalhia pumps in Cerise.

I’m wearing Truth‘s Antie hair in smoke (sale til February 25!) and the pretty soon to be released Grace skin from PXL Creations.

The bomber jacket from The Abyss’ Opium avatar is at the base of today’s look. I’m wearing it with Veschi’s Jeanious gold pants and W&B burnt orange Cole top (available soon).I picked Redgrave’s girl Biker boots in sand and Miriel’s Find your Way necklace to finish the outfit.

Today’s hair choice is the ginger brown Orie, from Zero Style and I’m wearing the upcoming release from PXL Creations, Grace.

Been feeling blue lately,so eventrually that reflects in my clothes. Quite litterally today I’m afraid. I’m wearing the skirt from Savvy?’s Regina outfit (currently all proceeds of Savvy? are going tothe Victorian Bushfire relief fundraiser) with the top part of CKSD’s essential sweater dress in sky and accesoirizing with the Aemilia necklace of W&B (available soon) and Fleur’s midnight leather sash belt. The simple blue pumps are from Blaze, the fatpack of these should be a basic in every girl’s inventory since they cost only a fraction of what other, more advertised, sculpted pumps cost.

I’m wearing a splendor skin mod that Ana Lutetia made, I heart that lady, she’s so sweet. She has put these skins up for for the Victorian Bushfire Relief and the hair is Victoria, from Truth, which is his contribution to the same fundraiser

Cheeky Girls

A couple of days ago I received this kind postcard from the Pearl sisters Adelaide, Cecily and Vivian telling that they just completed finishing school and that they are now residing with their guardian Mr. Byron Westminster in his beautiful home. I’m pretty sure mr. Westminster has his hands full to protect these 3 playful young ladies from the perils that these vulnerable creatures are exposed to once they will make their debut, butfor the time being, the household seem to be pleasantly disciplined.

Under the protective yet firm hand of their guardian, the Pearl sisters have been diligently working on a few projects for their Cheeky Girls brand which now are ready to share with the world. The visitor to their home may expect some lovely lingerie sets, made out of soft silk and antique lace, with knickers and brassières the leave some to be discovred yet and which are perfect to surprise your Valentine with. There are a couple of hairdo’ s, wickedly innocent, some with colour change accessoires and with lovely soft textures in girly colours. Demure yet alluring. There is a modest collection of  beautiful shiny eyes that will make him melt when you look up at him… either in utter adoration, or while teasing and feeling frisky. And then there is a pretty skin collection which has some innovative and slightly naughty features….

3268903066_814021d96e_b-1     3268077605_daaab86a20_b

One can purchase extra textures to these skins with a freckled cleavage, or if you indulge being more of a tomboy-ish girl, skinned knees. However, for the naughty among us, there are some adorable spank marks on the cute bottoms which makes you wonder how much fun Mr. Westminster really has with his cheeky protègées. A brief, but very pleasant with the lovely Ms. Vivian taught me that more work  is to be expected, and that they are having some other naughty ideas to share with us as time will pass.

3268902760_1cf39600b9_o

The build itself deserves some attention as well. Mr. Westminster has made himself a lovely secluded home, with a very imaginative entrance. Aside from the first floor, which has been opened to the public  and where the collection for now is on display, the doors are  shut… but who knows what’s going on behind them…

So, yeah… Siddean invited me the other day to come try her new platform shoes -feet included- and i was like “no way!….no frankenfeet for me!!” “just come and try” she said… so like a good girl, I went over and tried the demo on. I admit, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy I could avvicinate my skintone. Of course,if you use a SLink skin, it gets even easier, because Siddean has made presets for those. But even without using them,It was fairly easy to get it right. And with a little moving and tinkering, I could make them look pretty good. But still… hmmm…and then she released a special valentine’s version for only L$ 100, so I figured, what the heck, and I got me a pair. Ok, 2 pair, as I also picked up the blacks. I’m wearing it here with the skimpy Sophie mini dress from SkinFlicks and the bangles and earrings from Zaara.

Today’s hair is Harlow, from Cake. and the lovely Lustre skin is from Pixeldeep.

Sorry… slurls have to wait.. rl is calling!

Weeks ago I saw a girl with this coat on, and with her size 100 boobs, dito bum sticking out from under the prims and excessive bling, it was hard to recognise the beauty of the piece, part of the Furious outfit from Bishwear. But I wanted to show that you can dress up totally elegant with it, so I teamed the coat up with Coco’s white broadcloth blouse -I just love that collar-  LeLutka’s black wool pants, and Bax Coen‘s black ankle boots. With the Topaze crystal necklace and the Times Square ring from Paper Couture, you can make an entrance anywhere.

I picked the classic Poynter hair from Armidi and I coulnd’t resist the special skins from Fleur that are part of the current Vain Inc. gridwide hunt. They have the loveliest red glossy lips (shown: Sable)
