Although I gave up on horses loooong time ago (we just don’t get along), I really love the equestrian look. Dare I say there is little more sexy on a man than a well fitting pair of jodhpurs, riding boots and a nice cableknit sweater? Oh well, I’m rambling *waves at Peter* (he was the hunk at the stables back then when I really did want to like horses… but then again, maybe that was because of said Peter).

For today, I’ve put a look together around the new Georgie tapered trousers from Whippet & Buck (they are 3/4 length btw) and from the same brand the Hykova buttoned tank (some basics you just keep using and using… it’s the stuff which you won’t ever regret investing in a fat pack ). I’m wearing Coco Designs’ Tuxedo jacket to go with it, and also their riding boots.

Then,  to complete the look, I’ve chosen Sey’s new TieC. scarf, and the old, but still amazing gloves from 5th & Oxford (can you believe these were still tagged TaP in my inventory?) The gloves are not available in the 5th & Oxford shop, but you will still find them in their satellite shops at Muse and Rue d’Antibes.

Hmm… not sure what exactly started this outfit… but I was fascinated with the Boon SLJ 761 short afro hair and it looks kinda hot with the (new skintone) dark coffee Jolie from Dutch Touch, which will be out soon.

I needed something to contrast with the hair and the skin, so I went over to Donna Flora and picked up the Karen set, of which I’m wearing both the blouse and the jacket. Squinternet Larnia, the creator from Donna Flora has made huge progress ever since I first met her, although it still irks me that some of the layering is not the most logical and that some attachments are not having logical perms. For instance, in a skirt, one part should not be only copy and no mod, while other parts are mod and no copy :-(. But anyway… that’s something for another time. The Karen suit is just delicious. Really well drawn, and with nice prim work.

For the pants I went back to the warm chocolate colour of Lelutka’s Kora pants, and to finish it off, I picked Maitreya’s Neyya toe cap buff shoes.

The earrings are *really* old and discontinued Lady hoops from Lucas Lameth, but I love them for their utter simplicity and classic look.

So Many Styles participates in the Designers United event with this beautiful Crow jacket. I’m wearing it with Madsy’s peplum skirt (sans system skirt), Blowpop’s fishnet stockings, Bax’s red Prestige boots and fri.day’s red wide waist belt. The clutch is from Icon and the hat comes with the lovely Tarry hair from Tukinowaguma. I’m wearing the soon to be released Duch Touch Jolie Ruby in the Sky make up.

Coquette Aurora II pre-release

Shannon Carroll, creator of the Coquette brand is preparing her Aurora II skins to premiere at Vanity Universe’s skin fair (November 7-22, 2009), but, to help out a friend who’s computer has given up, she has done a 1 make up pre-release in all four skintones. The pre-release will only be available til her friend manages to either repair or replace the computer, and will then never be sold again…. no time slot.. once it’s gone it’s gone.. so why not go over today, right?

A single skin sells for L$ 750 and comes with 2 cleavages, freckle options and 3 pubes options. The darkest tan is a litte too saturated for my personal taste, but the others look just so lovely that I can hardly wait to see the make ups Shannon is planning for this skin

The All that Glitters undies are also from Coquette and the come in a lot of different colours.

So the boy friend jeans stayed on for this look… I find myself doing that quite often, that an element of the previous look, will return in today’s look. But then again, Maitreya’s BF jeans is such a basic item it’s easily worn in a lot of different combinations.
I also like layering, and I love it when a creator makes the effort to make their stuff on every useful layer. I’m wearing fri.day’s purple striped v-neck here, paired with Boom’s purple wrong size cardi and their latest release, the doll pink Park Life Hoodie. For the shoes I also went with fri.day, I’ve picked their purple basic flats to go with this combination. Ryker Beck ,the creator from Exodi, yesterday sent this lovely Lily skin to her in world group, and it was the base for this purple/lavender/pink set.
Last but not least, with this casual look, I’ve picked Truth’s Brooke, in driftwood, because it’s so very casual as well… like when you just grab your hair, twist it in a loose bun, and stick a pencil in , while half of it falls back on your shoulders. Totally my kind of weekend look.

Coco Designs released this lovely sweater with frilly blouse yesterday and it finally made me take off my Corinthe poncho (well, so to speak… as in, it’s the first item that made me want to post a LOTD, since buying the poncho at Lelutka). I’m wearing the boyfriend jeans from Maitreya with it (thanks Wilma Delgado for reminding me I had that one.. damn .. that chick knows my inventory almost better than I do) and the berry coloured basic flats from fri.day. I’m wearing Truth’s driftwood Cameron and Dutch Touch Jolie Pip7 (cream). Someone mentioned on plurk, that the lips were too special for normal use… but I’m a girl who likes to play with make up, and even though i would not wear this in RL… I can so totally pull it off in SL!!

More Skins

It’s been one of those weeks… so many new (to me) skins around. They all look very different on me, but they all have that “hot damn” effect.

First, there is Blowpop’s Elizabeth, 10 new make ups are available, in the 4 skintones. Elizabeth, for me, is a bit of an English Rose kind of girl. So rosy pale that she’s diaphanous. Every skin in this line comes with a subtle and a bolder make up. I must admit, I like the subtle make ups better on Elizabeth.
Then there is Très Blah‘s skin Girly Chic, shown here in tan, Cotton Candy. Being fully handdrawn, this skin may lack the realism some of you want in SL skin, but I totally dig this. It’s adding a lot of character to the SL avatar, and the mouth is just so kissable. I don’t give a damn that this skin has no private bits, as I heard some people complaining in the shop. If you go for that, yeah, then Très Blah is not your next favourite skin, but if you’re looking for something new in the drawn look skin tradition, Juliette Westerburg’s are so worth a go.
Last, there is Aimesi‘s Jezzy in Sun, face 5. She is such a beach girl. She’s all healthy looking and glowing. The body is not highly detailed, but it’s well blended, and seam free. I wish the nails on this skin were looking a bit better though… they are a bit blue-ish, you know… like when your hands get really cold.. but that doesn’t match the summer tan look of this skin. Other than that… really cute!

Other need to knows: wearing Tiny Bird’s Swirley hair in Brownie and Coco’s black Long sleeves sweater and PXL’s glow eyes Aqua large

Ok, blogging one brand twice a day seems overdone… and usually I would agree.. but omg… look what Iki has just released??? They’re at the shop now. The cutest make ups you’ve ever seen and they come with different eyebrows, cleavage options, adorable freckles and sans adorable freckles. So worth to go try them, they retail at 1000L$ for a single, but the fatpack is only 2750L$!!!

I’ve been a bad blogger this week, with lots of things on the shelves, and little output… but hey… what can I say, RL has been busy this week and pretty much kept me hostage. When I logged in yesterday, I found Truth had dropped his latest creations on me and I think it’s a lovely batch again.

From left to right there is Maxine, soft and feminine, Mackenzie, voluminous and drop dead sexy, Cameron, speaking of sexy, and gorgeous to show off  jewelry, leaving the ears and the neck free and last but not least there is Brooke, which is a very casual and a bit messy look.

and then I had the pleasure of receiving some of  Dutch Touch creator Iki Ikarus latest skin samples. She’s working on the lovely Jolie skin and these are some samples of what the make ups may look like. Iki and I were raving over the emerald eye liner and some of the bold colours for the eyes, but also I’m in love with the fire engine red lips, and I’m confident it will make the final skins.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

As with all forms of cancer, early detection is your best chance of surviving, or being cured from breast cancer. Yet there are so many myths surrounding the disease, some of them downright ridiculous, others sound more plausible and are really persistent.

October is Pink Ribbon month, or breast cancer awareness month. and aside from regular self examination, I can highly recommend educating yourselves on some (semi-) professional sites like:

Susan G. Komen Foundation

Internet Based Moms

National Breast Cancer Foundation

American Cancer Society

Breastcancer.org

and there is so much, much more

To help raise a couple of bucks to support research and improve awareness, Diconay Boa, the owner of Body Study! has made this cute set of undies, which sells for 300L$ (1,18 USD) and all proceeds go to the ACS. I think you owe it to yourselves, your sisters, mothers, friends, not only females, but males as well (as approximately 1700 men get diagnosed with breast cancer, and which is usually harder to treat) to go get a set and donate some for the cause. I’ve briefly covered Amanda when I wrote about Adam ‘n Eve’s new skins for the skin & shape fair, but now Amanda is in the shop with 4 delicious autumn make ups (Berry, Fruity, Hazel & Ruby). I’m showing you skintone 2, there are 4 in total. I just went over to check out their rennovated skin section and couldn’t help but taking these home with me. The new skin shop is spacious. Previously it was huge but used to be a little overwhelming, because there were just so many different skins. Now Sachi has retired most of them, and the new lay out, with several niches for the various skin lines is such an improvement… Oh well, I’m rambling, I just wanted to share these pretty faces with you. The fat pack is yours for just 1800 L$ and comes with options… bewbage, freckles, hairbase, and all the mani/pedi for every make up.

Ms Frangili, the designer of Sascha Designs is just getting better and better… the texture of this gown Trouble is amazing, and I had a hard time picking a colour… they are all lovely. Like with all her work, she likes to include options and is totally affordable. This gown comes with 5 different skirts from sleek and transparent to the full battleship gown, and of course you can wear just the system skirt for an ultra sleek effect as well and all that for just L$ 400! I only forgot to ask her for a moddable version of the shoulder piece, since my boobs are not that big. Usually the various attachments are moddable though, so it might have been a mistake that this one isn’t. Anyway, no reason not to blog this beauty.

Oh my… this is so me.. RL me that is.. I love poncho’s/sweaters like this, that I can hide in, curl up on the couch with and loose myself in a good book with a pot of tea… so when I saw this new Lelutka release, it had written my name ALL over it and it begged to be the center piece of today’s look. I’m simply wearing it with a pair of good jeans (in this case Zaara’s Classic indigo) and J’s Long Boots.

Other than that, I’m wearing Artilleri’s Buddy glasses, Exodi’s Lily skin (Dove Fusion faded) and Truth’s Isle hair in barley.

Today’s look started out with the lovely new skin of Très Blah. I’m wearing the Cotton Candy make up here in tan. I’m wearing it with the also recently released ::69:: hair Neguko in Cocoa. From my ever expanding wardrobe, I’ve picked the indigo velours Ishaya slacks from Zaara’s and the white v-neck t-shirt from Coco. While hanging out at Kota’s earlier, she handed me the latest she and Twiggy are working on for Whippet & Buck, the Tea Hawks Vest in powder ( the purple one was in the 50Linden Fridays, yesterday). W&B are currently in the process of producing the colours, and then it will be released. The pretty Miss Mara scarf is from Leezu and the old, worn boots are from 0 number (at Drowsy, creator Mai Runo).

The fishy Strawberry Cuddle Maxipull is one of this season’s favourite, so when I saw this pink one in the 50 Linden Friday (available only today!!), I just had to go get it, and because I think you all should, I made it the base of today’s look. I’m wearing it with the black Whippet & Buck black Hykova Buttoned tank, and Nylon Outfitters black belt as well as Blowpop’s fishnets and Miel’s ebony Lo socks. The riding boots are from Coco, and the gloves are from the Marilyn outfit at Emery. Nait Smith made the Rock’n’Rolla chain Gang Bang female :-).

Today’s skin is from Mai, Mia Sunrise vol. 1, and I’m wearing the Melanie hair from Truth , in mirage.
