I agree… when Truth said he released this batch of hair, I thought… wha… today??? Well… yeah… he’s been working on them over the last week.. and lag probably couldn’t be worse on the sim already due to the clearance sale… so.. oh well, why not add some new to the old and keep everyone happily immobile. Clockwise starting upper left are Trina, Lizzie (yeah, after Ms Nerdific herself!), Lucinda (my fave of the week) and Penelope. Anyway.. I’m not making sense.. I’m tired after a really bad night and an even worse day at work… so I’m going to make me a drink and relax some.

A simple, basic look for today, very much like what I’m wearing in RL today. The turtle neck sweater is a group gift from Coco Designs, and the skirt (slightly tinted) is the 2811 black velvet skirt from Pixeldolls. Clothing that basic needs a little accessories, so I’ve picked Icon’s LF gold/wood necklace and Coco Designs’ double belt. My beloved Bax prestige boots are perfect with almost every outfit… but I really love wearing boots with a long skirt… so they were my first choice for today’s outfit.

I’m wearing Hannah, from Truth, in coffee and Tulli’s Bella in fair (Sophia make up), which, according to the latest news, Tuli has finished and will be released onFriday the 6th!!!!

And then about the ribbon I’m wearing… November 5th has been declared Step Up day… step up for content designers, step up against content theft. This is the short of it:

Step UP! is a campaign centred on a special day of action that everyone can become involved with, and that can empower and inform people about the problem of content theft, and what they can do about it.
We are aiming for a day that draws together action, education and celebration. We want a focus that empowers people and allows them to express their own creatvity in a variety of ways. It also draws attention to the strength of feeling that there is here on the grid.
Step UP! Day will be November 5th – Guy Fawkes Day or Bonfire Night in the UK.
Action:
a) On this day – no-one uploads textures to the grid. This should show the economic power of people acting together, without harming content creators. We want Linden Lab to see the power of the feeling about the problem of content theft – and to discuss urgently strategies for tackling it.
b) As many people as possible wear an orange ribbon as a sign of support for creators.
Celebration:
The day ends with parties. Bonfire parties. That means that all around the grid, people have parties.
We’re encouraging every club to hold a Step Up! party. We encourage every musician to play Step UP! events. Everyone on the grid has a part to play. Everyone can take part.

Boho blues… Boudoir blues… Boudoir Boho… aaaah.. never mind… it’s just another mix ‘n match outfit from yours truly, based on the rather chique Blacklace dress from RL/SL brand Boudoir by Vitabela Dubrovna, but then dressed down fot every day use with the light denim military jacket from fri.day and the voluminous scarf from Maitreya and J’s western boots, tinted grey/blue for the occasion.

I’m wearing Très Blah’s Girly Chic tan Cotton Candy and Maitreya’s copper scarf hair.

Adam ‘n Eve Desire Autumn Special

Dark, liquid chocolate.. that’s the best way to describe skin tone 4 of Desire, the dark skin from sachi Vixen @ Adamn ‘n Eve. Today, following the release of the Amanda Autumn specials a couple of weeks ago, sachi has released 4 Autumn special make up for Desire. And whereas I’m  normally not too fond of metallic lips, on a dark skin they just work! The eye make ups are fairly modest, but you’ll definitely want that, to avoid a make up overkill with the lips. After all, less is more… that goes for accessoires, but certainly also for make up.

Free Speerit Skin Comparison

Another brand that people who are not really into it complain over that “they look all the same” is Free Speerit. Remember a couple of weeks ago when I decided to post a comparison of the faces of the latest Dutch Touch skins? Well, I’ve decided to do the same with the currently available skins at Free Speerit, because I think Desidelia Vella is one of the more talented skinners in SL who puts in a lot of effort to make a highly realistic, yet smooth skin… not to mention some of the best bodies on the grid.

No seriously… if you ever want/need to get nude… Free Speerit has gorgeous bodies!!

Anyway… from left to right, there is Alice. One of the older skins of Desi, which were available already before she went on hiatus last year. Then she came back with the smashing Kimberly, whom she gave an entirely new body as well as a more sensual face (compared to alice, who is fresh, and more girly). Then she all surprised us with Fiona, a drop dead gorgeous dark skin. More of an Asian than an African dark if you ask me… maybe because there are a lot of yellow tones in the skin, and I have sen a lighter version which Desi may or may not want to put out eventually… I sure hope she will, because it’s just lickable. The discussions I have with Desi, most of the time are about the saturation level of the skin tones… whereas she tends to more saturation, like in Kimberly, I prefer a more desaturated skin tone, and I’ve found that in the Katherine pale skins. Yet another beautiful face, with a lovely bone structure, a bit sharper than Kimberly, more contrasted if you want to. And then I grabbed Elizabeth from the pay what you want wall, which is so pale, its almost translucent. And with the red lips… it’s a very dramatic look (you also get a blood crying version). But as you can see all skins have clearly the Free Speerit signature… but they don’t look the same.

All but Alice have tintable eyebrows and Fiona and Katherine also have a tintable hair base!

This one is for my friend Wilma, because she’s crazy about pink, and even more so about J’s western boots :-P. So I went crazy and bought the PINK faux fur coat at Aoharu (for the anti fur SL lobby… it might as well be chenille, so what’s in a texture name) and I’m wearing the short version over the lilac (and coloured) Boyfriendbeater top from fri.day and their pink (but also recoloured) the v-neck T-shirt. The violet wide waist belt (also from fri.day) matches just fine, after recolouring the top on the underwear layer. I’m wearing the Brindisi white slacks from Armidi, and of course… the pink western boots from JB Gazov, for J’s. Oooooh.. the Merengue necklace is from Ruriko Jewell, under the alluring brandname of U&R Dogs

To really complete the Wilma look… I digged up one of my Curio skins ( Sundust light Beach-Goby 1) and I’m wearing Truth’s Lauren in mirage.

Sparkle Skye has this beautiful Dias de los Muertos gown 50% off this weekend. As you may expect from ms. Skye, it comes loaded with lots of goodies, the garland with veil and the wings are just beautiful… not to mention the details on the skirt… skulls shimmering through the fabric… and for the less morbidly inclined, there is also a non blood stained version of the bodice included.

Oh well…. never mind.. I think this is a “must go now” for everyone who is still doubting what to wear tonight… or just because you want, like me, snort your drink all over the computer because they are so funny! No pumpkins on my blog… No trick or treats at my door, no costumes in RL… it’s just not that big of a deal here… although… some people, retail shop owners mostly, want to make us believe that Halloween is the next Sinterklaas in the Netherlands… well… nah… I love my Sinterklaas, and in a few weeks we’ll have the kids at the doorsteps for St. Martin, which is one of the winter/begging feasts here. But I could not resist posting Kavar Cleanslate’s cute and sassy Halloween costumes for Exile. the Slut rule Bunny, Cat & Mouse were created last year, and are back in the shop for the occasion, and the Mistress of the Law, is a new costume this year. All hair is from Exile, skin by Pink Fuel and the ankle boots are from Bax Coen.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who kinda resents the import of Halloween to the European mainland.  I have an Ana by my side ❤

Oh yes,… 50L$ Friday so works for me… I TP to shops… see the 50 L$ Friday goodie… may or may not purchase… and then ooooh… that’s nice… and that too… uh huh… I’m easily manipulated…

I admit… That’s what happened at Oh Mai, where I found this Nina sweater and I also picked up the brown Yoga pants at Surf Couture (as well as the red, yellow and slate 50L$ Friday pants!) and then I combined them with Pig’s Ladies like flowers (eggshell) and fri.day’s grey boybeater. Because I’ve been cold in RL all day, I’m wearing Maitreya’s toeless slouch socks (softs 3) in SL, and I wonder… why does everything look cute in SL? I look horrible in RL when I wear stuff like this, especially when I put on boots like these from Zero Number… and dare to finish it with a heart shaped pendant like the Heartwood necklace from Lucas Lameth. But in SL… I think it’s just a heck of a comfy and cute outfit.

I’m wearing Dutch Touch’s Jolie basic in Cream and Truth’s Aslin in driftwood.

Oldie but Goodies? No… Lily is Fresh as Ever!

Earlier this week Ryker Beck released what she called the Oldies but Goodies make ups for her latest skin Lily. A series of make ups from earlier skins, now updated to fit this pretty face. They come in the normal and faded version, and with dark and light brows. To be honest, of most make ups, I love the faded ones best (shown below). They are so beautifully subtle, whereas the “full”version sometimes is a bit too much for me, but they work wonderfully with an evening gown.

Dutch Touch Jolie: So Pretty

Last night Iki Ikarus released the full batch of Jolie skins over at Dutch Touch. The Pip make ups were released earlier this week, and now there are more traditional make ups available as well. I know I’m repeating myself, but since Iki keeps amazing me with her mad skills, yes, this is the loveliest skin she has ever made. Jolie is available in 5 skin tones and 16 make ups per skin tone (and then all the options, 3 eyebrows, freckle/moles and normal cleavage/push up effect)

Mhmmmm… the ladies over at Whippet and Buck sure take their time… but when they decide to release new stuff, be sure it’s all yummy again. This week Dakota and Twiggy finally released their Georgie tapered trousers, which I’m wearing in all 3 outfits, the Lizzy cropped boat neck shirt, shown in bordeaux, to the left) which is really cute and closes with ribbons in the back, and in the middle outfit, the Tea Hawks vest, with some amazing prim work (combined with the Cole boat neck top). In the combination to the right, I’m wearing the Georgie tapered trousers with the Haver tiered frock (peacock coat).

WTW Lingerie

Sometimes, scrolling the feeds, you see something and you think… why have I never been there yet? Like was the case when I saw the lingerie of WTW on Berry’s blog somewhere last month. So finally, earlier this week, I found some time to look up WTW by tomoe Zenkova, and check it out for myself. Oh Lord, the greed… It’s not often that I want to buy literally everything in a shop.. but I really had a hard time containing myself here. All the lovely, girly, frilly sets… but… I still maintained a little bit of common sense and only bought a few sets to take home and check out….. You know.. there could be horrible seams in that nice looking set… and how would the back look on these?

Well, let me reassure you… they are really well made… and how the back looks? I’ll leave that up to you to discover when you go get yours! Btw… I think I should mention all of these sets are under 100 L$?
