O HAI Abby Cole!

I like how the Abyss does not create skin, but Identities… and indeed, all their skins have very distinct characters. Abby Cole is portrayed as Teacher’s pet by her creator, but for me she’s also a delicious farm girl, so that’s how I decided to portray her. The fact that I’m spending a lot of time landscaping Leek Island is probably also part of my current country life fascination.

Anyway. I think Abby Cole has a delicious face. But like most skins at The Abyss the skin absolutely has issues. Seams, smudges… they’re all there. Also at 1400 L$ for a single skin, The Abyss is absolutely one of the more expensive skin shops. But what can I say, I’m a sucker for a sweet face.

Abby Cole comes in 2 skintones and is a natural red head, but the lighter browns will work very well on her. I’m wearing Tiny Bird’s Ring of Fire (ginger) and Surf Couture’s “I’m a little bit coutry” in Mossy Creek.

I hope your week started as good as mine… No computer system at work, phone overload, and on top of it all, my car got stuck in a pile of snow when I had to run an errand. Consequently, I pulled a muscle when I tried pushing it out, which eventually I succeeded in doing, but oh my… am I happy that for once I didn’t give in to my vanity, and decided to wear my hiking shoes to work today…

Oh well… another skin portrait for today. It’s Belleza’s Alyson. It was a Christmas Group Gift from Tricky. I briefly talked to him yesterday, he’s currently working steadily on the make ups and the hair bases and expects a release of this beauty by next weekend… How’s that to look forward to?

Other need to knows: I’m wearing Truth’s Lara in Walnut, and the top is an upcoming release from Michami… yes… newness is on its way!!! The necklace was a limited edition from MIriel, and is no longer available. I know… I’m mean. I miss Miriel!

Coming soon is Brooke, a new face at 5th & Oxford. Roslin is in the final stage of completing 2 make up sets for this pretty lady. Those of you who shop at 50L$ Friday may already have a sample of Brooke in your inventories. If you don’t… you really should consider next Friday, because often creators put out samples of upcoming releases. Cute idea huh?

Anyway, Brooke has a really pretty body, like you already know from Audrey and other skins that 5th & Oxford previously retailed under their former brand, but the face is a little bolder than what we knwo from them. This make up is fairly classical, but Roslin has been working on some really dramatic eyes as well.

For this pic, I decided to cleopatrify (neologism, yay) Brooke for this portrait, with the ultra sleek Fanny hair from Uw.St in Meteorite and the soon to be released Celestial choker in aged gold from alaMood. The top is from the GLAVA outfit @ Bijou.

I was talking with Iki earlier, and how I liked seeing her male skins getting quite a bit of attention. On the various shapes on the blogs, They all look very boyish, and almost androgynous, but I wanted to show that, especially Rodd, can look very masculine indeed.

Dutch Touch male skins come with and without a hair base and with and without chest hair. A copy/mod shape is included to help the guys getting started to personalize the skin.

Other need to knows: he’s wearing the wool blue peacoat from Coco and black knit cap, also from Coco (Homme). The cig is from FNKY.

Hmm… so.. instead of full reviews, I’ve decided to give a photo impression of the new skins which I like for a while. SL is being a serious pain in the you-know- what lately, and taking a lot of pics is not good for my mood *shakes tiny fist* .

One of the most striking skins lately is Très Blah creator Juliette Westerburg’s Hiccup.They were released little over a week ago for the Designers Unitded III Vaudeville event, and today Juliette has released yet another make up for this weekend’s stumblebum (and it’s only 300L$, so a great way to get to know this skin for a very reasonable price!)

Hiccup Lavender Lippie has the sweetest mouth and soft, delicate features. I’m wearing the light eyebrow version, but it also comes in a dark version, as well as without the freckles. But admit…. don’t you just think these are darling?

Pink time!!!! I’m so addicted to Aoharu’s nordic knit items. I’m wearing them a lot, and those fat packs were a good investment this winter. These leggings and scarf are all sorts of cozy.

Atomic’s latest release Swooped has to be put into the same category. cozy, comfy, yet totally cute and even sexy. And yes, the scarf is indispensable, or a girl would catch a chest cold with this kind of weather. It’s still freezing here, and with a strong wind, the chill factor is massive.

But what really started this outfit are Reek’s new Autumn Boots. The fur and the ribbons are texture change, so you can play with the looks of them as much as you want and they are only 250L$! If you’re fast, you can still get the red boots for only 50L$ as part of 50L$ Friday. As I write this it’s 10:45 pm slt, so you could still go get those.

L.Fauna’s Lapine (pale2) Fresh is today’s skin and I’m wearing Sasha in champagne, from the latest release at Truth.

I like the casuals over at Aoharu and I’m eternally grateful for Machang making some of the best stuff for our poor, fashion deprived, guys. But I really LOVE this slightly more formal release, an  (obviously) Chanel inspired tweed dress and jacket. Wearing the brown dress here with the ivory jacket for a little bit of contrast, but it’s über stylish in uni color as well.

I’ve accessorized it with the gossamer necklace from Paper Couture and Miel’s Bella Peepers. I was considering one of Paper Couture’s rings as well, but with Mademoiselle Coco’s golden rule in mind… I didn’t go for it.

Exile’s Eva is a gorgeous Grace Kelly like updo with a modern twist, and is just perfect for today’s look. And well, I’m currently still infatuated with L.Fauna’s Lapine, so I’m wearing pale 2 Mystic with freckles today.

Sophia Harlow challenged the bloggers to get their old selves out of the dark depths of our out of control inventories and compare with our current appearance.

The funny thing is… I haven’t even changed that much in 3,5 years in SL…. yeah, I’ve shrunk quite a bit, my legs as well… and the boobies… omg… they used to be a full 72.. and now I keep them at a modest 23, but all in all, I don’t think I was such a fugly noob (except for the first few days, and no… there is no evidence remaining of those days)

Did you guys know that Ryker Beck is having a MASSIVE everything 50% off sale at Exodi?? She’s moving to the UK later this month, but her cats can’t go with her, and so she is having this sale to make money to get “her girls” shipped to a dear friend across the country who has offered to adopt both of them! That being said, how could I NOT wear her latest skin Sienna (cachet, gingerbread) for today’s look! Go show some cat love and drop off a few L$ is you can spare them.

I’m also wearing Bubbles Clawtooth’s newest release LoveMoMo in Orange you glad. It’s such a fun and quirky do… I just might have to go back to get it in other colours as well. The Analu earrings are from Exodi again. They are scripted, so you can match them with a lot of stuff from your inventory.

It’s still friggin’cold over here, so while I’m thinking about spring already, I can’t get myself to dress up in other stuff than comfy cardigans and sweaters. Today’s I’m wearing Madsy’s Ivory rib front cardigan and Atomic Cozi Cardi in dirt. Zaara’s classic indigo jeans are among my favourite items in my inventory. The scarf is Taylor, from Artilleri.

Not shown, but just to complete, I’m wearing J’s long round boots in brown with this outfit.

This is an outfit I’d totally wear during a meeting in RL. The jacket is from the Black Floral SuitGown from latest collection of Paper Couture, and theI’ll be a Ghost shirt is a 50 L$ Friday item from Whippet & Buck. The ultra feminine skirt is from Kunglers’ black Claudia dress.

My favourite stockings currently are the lace top stockings from Blowpop. Today I’m wearing the brown 40 derniers and the shoes are Maitreya’s Neyya toe cap white, which match the rest of the outfit just perfectly.

Très Blah has out the most adorable new skins, and I’ve picked the freckled Hiccup light Drama skin and just to give a nonchalant touch to it all, I’m wearing the casual Penelope in almond by Truth.

Yup… it’s a blue Monday. I’ve been on vacation for 2 weeks and I’m NOT looking forward to getting back, and facing an exploded mailbox and ditto desk. On top of that, it’s unusually cold and… oh well. Let’s just get over with it, right?

If I had this sweater in RL to put on, I’d at least be sure to be warm enough, and cute as well. It’s from So Many Styles, appropriately names Winter Sweater, and it also comes with a cute flower on the collar (if you like cute flowers on collars that is, but personally I’m not such a fan).

A few months ago BOOM released these Seaman pants in a couple of good colours. They are low waist, so for me they are not very easy to combine because I’m not a huge fan of exposed bellies (especially in wintertime… but… does that really matter in SL?) , but with this sweater it works fine.

The Blue Verve pumps from Maitreya are a perfect and elegant touch to this outfit. Had I known how much I’d grow to love these, I would have bought the fat pack right from the start.

I’m wearing Hair Oh’s Oh my Julia in strawberry gold today and L. Fauna’s Lapine (pale 2) fresh (fr).
