I’m wearing ICING’s Camilla today. I went to Miko’s shop to check if I have missed any newness lately… but unfortunately, that was not the case. I miss new ICING stuff!!! So I figured I’d pick one of my older dresses and dress it up a bit.

Not too much, because Camilla is pretty all by itself, but considering the cold over here, a cardigan didn’t seem exaggerated. Since it’s mod, Coco’s lace cardigan is ideal to be tinted to fit multiple outfits. I picked a grayish brown which matches the sash of the dress. With the C.Edo flats in gun metal from Truth, you get a lovely outfit.

OK, to be honest, from all the ICING dresses in my inventory, I picked the Camilla dress because I wanted to create a sweet look to match alaMood’s Endless love set (diamond), which is so pretty and delicate.

I went over to Nyte ‘n Day earlier and picked up this lovely pink Snap dress. Nyte just never disappoints on the cute casuals. Since I started roam SL, I’ve been a regular customer. I just love that at Nyte ‘n Day you can still buy a totally cute dress like this for under 200 L$.

I’m wearing it with Atomic’s ribbon legging which were a VIP group New Years gift. The Geisha belt is from Fishy Strawberry. The pink Saturday flats are from Shiny things. I really wish Fally would come back and create again. I’m such a sucker for her shoes.

I’m still wearing Roos today, Dutch Touch’s latest skin in cream (city make up) and the Opium hair is from The Abyss and was a part from the Opium avatar. I don’t know whether it’s available separately.

Mah Poor Quality skins: Stevie & Neomi

A couple of days ago I found these skins in my inventory from a new shop, Mah Poor Quality by Aliana Tomsen and Elies Furse. My first impression: CUTE! Especially Stevie (I don’t care much for the pout and the dark shading on the mouth on Neomi and you see that on a lot of skins lately… what’s wrong… everybody been drinking cheap red wine?)

On second thought though, these skins still have a lot of issues. They are full of seams and differences between the textures of the different parts of the body templates and other bits need serious blending, but as long as you keep your clothes on, I think Stevie looks really, really nice.

I think Mah Poor Quality is not poor quality at all, just a beginning brand and starting skinners, and I’m curious to know how their products are going to develop over time!

Oh well.. so I forgot to post yesterday’s look yesterday and posted it over breakfast today, and here is today’s lotd, and as close a V-day look as you will get from me this year.

I’m wearing Atomic’s Cropped Love Tee in Pepto, and Dutch Touch’s MoTo jeans in grey. So funny that those stripes are somewhat in the shirt as well! J’s western boots are a logical choice with this outfit, and I love these pink ones, because it’s not too sweet a pink.

The pink straw hat is from Surf Couture, as is the weat i’m chewing on (comes with the hat). I’m wearing Flowey’s “be still my heart” tattoo, which I just realise is not visible under the braid of my Candice hair (from Truth) but I totally ❤ Flutter’s tats, so yeah… she makes txt tattoos now too, just so you know!

As said, the hair is Candice in coffee, and I modded it to fit with the hat. I see a lot of people who make the hat bigger, but seriously.. that’s not the way to do it, it makes your head look ridiculously big. Just make a colpy of the hair and shrink it, or edit linked prims and shrink the prims sticking out from the hat. I’m wearing Roos skin today, from Dutch Touch, in cream (City make up)

I’m wearing Michami’s new dress Rhia, in brown. it comes with a system skirt as well as with a mini sculpt skirt, but I’m wearing the system version here, because it’s just really good! Tesla’s Angelina boots to go with it, and basically, you’re done and ready to rock the world.

I have added the necklace and bracelet from Miel’s Elo set because the colours match so nicely with the dress. FNKY!’s Angel skin (medium, nude) is today’s skin of choice. It’s soft and feminine and I love the way it looks on my shape. Danielle in swedish from this week’s release at Truth’s is the finishing touch.

OK… so I agree… this is not the usual outfit for some serious gardening… but pixels don’t make you dirty! I’ve been working on another corner of Leek Island today, dressed like this.

I’m wearing Redgrave’s transparent knit sweater which I stole from a friend of mine :-P. It’s from Redgrave’s male collection, but as usual, it looks better on me than on my buddy. The bra which keeps it half decent is from Pig, from the softies collection and shimmering under that you can still see some of HUZ tats’Timeless tattoo. The Rebel Rebel asphalt jeans skirt is from 5th & Oxford. With this outfit, I’m wearing Tesla’s black Angelina boots, but they got cropped out… totally awesome boots though.

I’m wearing a triple lip ring from Puncture and an unreleased stack of rings from alaMood (SLDD of coming Saturday!). Other than that I’m wearing Ife light (make up 2) from Lelutka and Nick hair in meteorite from St.Uw (Uncleweb).

Frilly Little Bras & Frilly Little Knickers

Finally Dakota and Twiggy from Whippet & Buck decided to make some frilly little bras to go with their frilly little knickers which have been items in 50 L$ Fridays in the past. They are little, frilly and oh yes, adorable too… and they come in 8 delicious colours. They are available as separates and in convenient fat packs.

For those among us who currently live in their undies *coughs* Jori *coughs* these are an absolute must have. One thing though… I couldn’t help but giggle as I imagined all the voluptuous chested ladies wearing these frilly bras… and how their girls would suffer if they were wearing these in RL with ditto cupsizes… sorry… my bad :-D.

Other need to knows: I’m wearing L.Fauna’s Lapine (tan 1) fresh and Truth’s Bailey hair in coffee.

A casual look for a snowy monday… I picked up the saddle brown Vanity jacket, which disappoints me a bit texturewise, but I like the style of it. Yes, there, I’ve said it… The texture is bland, not really well shaded, and sub par to some of the other items from Lelutka,  but I’m a sucker for this kind of jackets. I’m wearing it with Pig’s dandelion softie (Stumblebum exclusive) and Dutch Touch’s basic jeans def 3.

J’s western boots come in an almost perfect matching brown, so they were the obvious companions for this look, and although one might expect gold accesoires for the colour of the buttons, I picked my alaMood Grazia set (not available, custom work) to wear today, because… well.. I felt like wearing it.

Weeks ago Heather Beebe of Rockberry dropped me some samples of her latest skin, Jules, and the kinda went lost in my inventory, but during yesterday’s organising session, I found them back. Skins make me happy :-), though the nose is a wee bit hard for my personal taste on this one. I’m wearing the H natural with dark brows here. Lelutka’s Jennifer in walnut whip is the choice of hair for today’s outfit.

Coco has new stuff out, again, and it’s pretty… again… so I made a look with their stuff… again… I know… but I just LIKE Coco Designs. And I’ve decided not to spend my Linden$ anymore on stuff I don’t like, just for the sake of this blog. So yeah, I’m in love with the Military Cardigan which was released earlier this week, and I’m wearing it with the high waist tuxedo pants, also from Coco. The lovely red top is “My red cropped tank” from Milk Motion.

I’m also wearing Dark Mouse’s Here Comes the Sun necklace, because i want spring!! I haven’t seen this much snow since the last time i went skiing… which is like 10 years ago. And that was in the Alps…this time it’s right here in the low lands. Oh well.. I’m rambling.. and yes… there was more snow in the Alps, but usually, if it snows here at all, it won’t stay for more than a day. Spring, therefore, on my wishlist! The prim nails I’m wearing are from SLink. I did miss a camouflage glove for the skin nails, but I took the one I have from my Fleur nails (Which I don’t think are currently available at 5th & Oxford… but you might want to bug Roslin for them, because they rock!)

Skin and hair are both Haiti Relief fundraiser items and may not be available anymore either. The skin is a special Ife make up from Lelutka and the hair, Sascha, is from Maitreya.

I decided to post a couple of themed looks in one, because there is too much newness finding my inventory lately. I’m seriously backlogging on things. So  from left to right:

Who ever said that monochrome is boring? Call it ton sur ton and it’s highly fashionable… any season! I’m wearing Reek’s Laundry Day hoodie today with Très Blah’s Neato sweatshirt (50L$ Friday item) and League’s Thermal skirt all in various shades of grey/black. With the stone Autumn boots, also from Reek, and Artilleri’s Taylor scarf, it’s a cozy and warm outfit, except maybe for the bare legs.. but oh well… i just liked it better this way.

The hair is also Laundry Day, but then from Tiny Bird (collab with Reek for the hoodie match) and today’s skin is the lovely Cleo v2 Sweets (caramel) from Dutch Touch.

Initially I was wearing Dutch Touch’s Roos skin, so I looked around for a nice rose texture, and this one from masterjinn, over at deviantart.com, is just so beautiful that I decided to use it anyway even though I changed skins later on.

Creator Beware Turns to Buyer Beware

Last week I posted about art work from Threadless.com being illegally used in SL, and how using copyrighted work makes content creators look bad who are saying they are protecting IP rights, but obviously don’t protect other people’s rights as fiercely as they do their own.

Well… much to my surprise (or, well.. maybe not even) today I was being made aware of another well known and seasoned content creator, Kenzie Craven, using the very same artwork from Threadless.com in her newest (as in TODAY’s) release.

I’m shocked that, when confronted on Plurk, Kenzie told that, yeah, she would take that shirt down, but that she’s sourcing images from all sort of sites… so likely there is more art work from others in her shop, which is not in the free domain.

Caveat Emptor.

Tiny Bird Cuteness

Autumn Hykova, the creator behind Tiny Bird has been creating new textures. There are more textures now, they are softer, have more depth and a really, really pretty gloss. I’ve been playing with her new release Green Gloves all day and I can’t decide which texture I like best. But do I need to? I’m pretty much a chameleon anyway, so I can wear whatever I like.

However, if you are more picky than I am, there are tons of colours to choose from.

I also LOVE the new package. This is what the Great Personality, aka fat pack looks like. Such a pretty little nest with Tiny Bird eggs… click on the colour egg you want to unpack, and it’ll be delivered to your inventory. It’s a great way to keep your inventory count down as well. Keep the pack, and unpack the hair as needed, over and over.

Ok, last but not least, I just couldn’t help but sharing some of the colours that made me say O WOW as soon as I attached the hair:
