Hiya! I just noticed that Ben Vanguard used the male version of the awesome suede trenchcoat from Adam ‘n Eve in his tenue du jour, and like me, he used an argyle sweater to go with it. Now I haven’t caught up with Ben in months, so this is really a funny coincidence. My sweater is from MRM factory and has the patches on the elbow which I like a lot with this style. The jeans, I know, it gets boring, but this outfit came up spontaneously and I was wearing them already, are the New School jeans from Torrid for the TW/Kari/CS collab and the boots are the huntress boots from Truth.

From Truth is also the Elizabeth 2 hair and the skin is the new one from Soda, girl next door, and is absolutely scumptious.

Canimal‘s brand new Circus Treats dress is a perfect little number to glam up for a lot of occasions this season. I’m wearing it with Mimikri’s sequin Joy skirt, and Fleur gloves. The fishnets are from Sheer, and the pumps are from Armidi. The necklace is from Icon. It’s one of those pieces that you can wear with almost everything.

The skin is Fleur Vivant Biba 3 (Allure version of Biba is in the making) and the hair is MMS O’Hara.

Yesterday at Le.Look I found these great cowboy boots in the NoLabel shop, and when I found a note that Lo Jacobs released this lovely Lucy dress at Church of Luxe, I knew they both would be in today’s outfit. I’m wearing them with the skinny jeans from Casa del Shai and the Lorie ballet shrug from Last Call. The necklace is from Miriel.

I’m wearing the Crushed Light 2 skin from Atomic Crush (also found at Le.Look) and Grazia hair in blonde from Philotic Energy (

I always have a double feeling when it is about Bijou‘s clothes. For starters, I find their ads totally unattractive, but their designs can be awesome, and I also think that the quality is not consistent, but when it’s good, it’s really good. So I have a lot of Bijou clothes, half of which I end up not wearing because of prims that I just don’t get to match or that look nice on a non moving object, but not on Grazia running around. The other half, I’m positively in love with.
Like this new release, a sassy little Gig dress that has a high clubbing factor. I’m wearing it with Truth‘s black Xanadu leggings and the shrug from Digit Darkes’ Serina dress. Maitreya’s Mishima Dawn shiny black shoes are perfect with this look as is the Kahto jewelry from Lucas Lameth, which gets reflected in the belt of the dress.

I’m wearing Belleza‘s Bella skin and Truth‘s Makayla hair.

More warm and snuggly looks for this girl and I have a tree to decorate. Not that the two are related, but hey, that’s what’s on my mind today. The sassy yellow babydoll coat is from Truth, as are the ballet flats. I’m wearing it with my favourite jeans that Torrid made for the New School collab with Kari and CS. The scarf is from Artilleri and the military cap is from Kari.

I’m wearing Cloe, a beta skin from PXL Creations and the hair which I heavily modded to go with the cap is Abigail, from Armidi.

I wanted a classy but edgy look when I put on the Chili leather jacket from SLink, so I made it spicy with the Wilson tartan pants from Muism and the Dietrich shirt from Cachet. The boots are Maitreya‘s bloom, the Nala necklace and the Kahto earrings are from Lucas Lameth Fashion Jewelry.

I’m wearing Chai‘s Morpho 02 and MMS Jet Hera hair.

It’s been ages since Roslin and CJ made new clothes @Fleur, so I was pretty excited when I saw this cute Fair Isle dress. I’m wearing the lavender version, and it matches perfectly with the blouse from Savvy?‘s Manna outfit and the grey full prim coat from PureStyle. The Hawaian necklace from Nylon Outfitters is a nice contrast to all the grey and lilac. I’m wearing the grey Fair Isle socks from Fleur as well, and the top of the violet knit tights from Pixeldolls. The rainboots are from ETD, and I made them a bit darker.

I’m wearing Fleur DNB Shoujo 6 in Azalea, and the hair is a freebie from TekuTeku.

Just as I was wondering what to wear with CKS Design’s equinox Amarantine skirt Milla Michinaga sent me her latest design, and the brown top of Malina is just great with the skirt. I completed it with the teal knit stockings from Pixeldolls and my trusted Liah boots from Jaywalk, in gunmetal. The pretty Luna necklace is from Litte Boy Blue.

The skin is MMS London and the hair is Exile’s Pamela.

MMS London

Some of you may remember the photo I posted several months ago when Minnu Palen released her “Zero” skin. I called it evolution, but honestly I was not that pleased with the evolution of the skin with the release of Zero. My opinion about MMS skins totally changed though with the introduction of the latest series that have city names. Rome is among my favourites, Helsinki is a somewhat acquired taste for me, but oh my, do I like the eye make ups! Moscow is a stunner with the rather strong cheekbone shading, and now there is London.

So instead of just posting a review, I think it’s nice to post an evolution photo again, about the bodies this time, so that you can see how much more details are in the current skins and what they have looked like through time. 1 of course being the very first skin at MMS, and 6 is the current body. I think the bodies have really evolved over time, and they look much more realistic now.

Is that realism someting I crave in SL? No, usually I prefer a smoothness to my SL skins that is unrealistic in RL. and I must admit that in some parts, like the hands for instance, the realism is a bit too much for me. That is personal of course, but I do think that you can get ain indication of how good a skinner is from watching closely the hands and the feet. I also think that if you are considered to be the biggest brand in SL and take pride in that, you beter make damn sure there isn’t a single flaw in your skin and smooth out even the tiniest of seams. But other than that… London is a delicious skin. I know I’m odd, but I’ve fallen hard for a body detail like the ankle, the Achilles tendon is amazing, suberb shading really. Other yays in this skin are the elbows, the tush and the breasts, they all look lovely.

And then ofcourse there is the plethora of make ups that are available for these skins. I sometimes really hate the fact that Minnu does make ups per skin tone, and that sometime I don’t see the make up that I fancy on the skin tone of my choice, but there remains plenty to choose from. Some people have said that they think London is so like Moscow, and at first sight, I was about to agree with that, but Moscow has stronger shadings on the cheeks and the mouth is poutier than London, and that makes London more mature looking than Moscow, and at the same time softer as well. I’m ending this post by simply posting some of my favourite make ups in the light skintone, which is the tone that I have used for this post. If you click that photo you’ll end up on my flickr stream for the rest of the make up photos in the other skin tones.
The hair I have used is Magdalene, a previous group gift from MMS, and the lovely Lingerie is Jaime, the latest release at Insolence.

I’m just in a happy mood today!!! So I picked the MOMO Candy dress , and the daisy rain boots from ETD, as well as the pink tigh highs from Shiny Things. The hair is a freebie from TekuTeku (Le Cuteness!!) and the skin is Claire from Romi Juliesse.

Cupcakes: Celebrity

There is a lot going on over at Cupcakes, Rosemary and Mimi have been moving, to a new main location at Le Zoo, and there are new skins too by the name of Celebrity. Wouldn’t have to do anything with the gracious owner of their new home stead? If so, I’m dying ofcourse to see a review from Ms Trollop herself over at Second Style blog.

Anyway, the collaboration between Mimi and Rosemary is very successful as far as I’m concerned. The skins have become bolder than they used to be when Mimi was making them on their own, and the bodies are smoother than back when Rosemary worked still solo. Which is funny, because in this skin Mimi has worked mostly on the faces, and the body is mainly Rose’s work. They have split the work on the make ups, and there are a lot of them, 20 per skintone, from the sweetest, very minimal, liner and gloss, through the dramatic evening make ups. I’m showing the 5 skintones in the photo above, the middle tone, Honey, I used twice. I really like that one. Personally I’m not a huge fan of the 2nd fairest skintone Vanilla because it’s a little too orange for me, and the same goes for Nutmeg, (2nd from the left) which is too yellowish for me, but will probably do very well if your avatar is Asian. I’ve always liked the dark skins from Rose and Mimi, and this Mocha is no exception, and the very fair Sugar is almost translucent when you see it in world. Lovely. What I like best in these faces is the cheekbone shading. It sculpts the face very subtly.

The body, like the previous skins, is pleasant. I like the chest on the skins, how the collarbone and chestbone are drawn, as well as the generous cleavage shading. Celebrity has a lovely tush as well. I’m less pleased with the hands and feet on the darker skintones, the drawn details get too hard for my taste and the texture on the feet (ankles and feet really) seem oddly stretched, but that may be completely personal. After all…. you still are trying demos before buying a skin, right? Ok, that’s it, I’m off to Cupcakes to buy some more make ups.

Two weeks to Christmas and my holiday stress is building… X-mas shopping, picking a tree, decorating, determining the menu for boxing day, when my family will join us for supper, the night mare visions of packed alleys in the supermarket, with equally stressed women who have the insane idea to bring their sensitive (so picking up mom’s stress and shamelessly exploiting that) kids… aaaah … the joys of the season.

Speaking of which, the joys of the SL season are countless. Thank you Wilma, for sending me over to Deviant Kitties to pick up these Wynter lights and the Wynter hair in brown. and Eve, for the tip on these awesome nails from Love Soul… so NOT ever for RL, but they are like 10 on the cute scale.
And I fell hard for UBU‘s xmas wellies the moment I saw them on the feed for the first time. The red sweater is from BettiePage Voyager, and the jeans are from Soap. The lovely skin is from Romi Juliesse.

Time flies when you are having fun, and so in my part of the world it’s Friday again, high time to post another look. It’s a mix of old and new. The tweed suit from Fleur has been in my inventory forever, but this week CJ and Roslin re-opened their clothing department in their re-built sim and the classic tweed texture struck me all over again. I’m wearing it here with the brand new Dietrich shirt from Cachet and the (recoloured) sea foam Italia tie from Armidi, the turquoise gloves from Fleur (also slightly dyed) and the teal Dune boots from Maitreya. The tweed cap is from Kari and the Lushwood earrings come from Lucas Lameth’s shop.

The skin I’m in is London, the latest from Minnu Palen (light make up 10) and the hair is Armidi‘s Soho in ginger.

iClaudia

I saw this poster for Claudia de Breij’s new show this morning when I was stuck in traffic on my way to work. Claudia is one of The Netherlands best comedians, and apparently for this show she has created at least half a Second Life. My compliments for the creator of this avie for the resemblance to RL Claudia. Any of you any idea who might have created this?

Trocadero

Sascha Frangilli, the creator of Sascha’s Designs, struck me a couple of weeks ago with her Tante Truus gown on the feed because…. well… I have a Tante Truus in RL, and she’s just a very classy lady! Last week se sent me one of her latest designs, Trocadero, and it’s a fun twist to a formal dress. The sequin splattered top is a little daring, and the sleek gown with the loose train makes it very elegant. Sacha also includes a battleship skirt, which is huge indeed, and quite adequate for making a grand entrance.

Skins are the new Winter Nights in Sable and Ivory from Fleur, and the hair is the gorgeous Constance from Diversity hair. The jewelry is from Random Calliope.

Sorry, no SLurls today as I’m not in-world.
