My country is having a winter like we haven’t seen in 12 years. No snow in my area but a lot of ice, and people are skating on the canals everywhere. Quite the nostalgic picture, really. Of course I’m in the mood for wintery stuff and this “fur” parka from BareRose just looked so snug. I’m wearing it with the white leather pants from Adam ‘n eve and the cerise Vidali pumps from Armidi. The scarf is part of ETD’s Davina hair, (in chestnut). Skin, again, is a cat eye beta of PXL Creation’s work in progress. I really love how this is developing.

It’s so incredibly cold here today that when I was putting on this outfit, I almost chose other tights than Mimikri’s black ajours. To think of bare skin in this weather… but hey… It’s SL, I could show off a bikini if I wanted to, so I kept them on, together with the debutante Genevieve sweater from Novocaine, and the black border fringe stole from Massimo. The old laced up boots from Shiny Things, although way pre-sculpt era, still rock, and I still wear them a lot.

The skin I’m in today is from Karamia (pale, sweet) and the hair is Exile’s Delta in sand.

Nyte Caligari’s Vestige skirt is so versatile that it has become one of the items in my inventory that I use most. Today I’m wearing it with the Dietrich vest of LeLutka and the blouse form the Bavarian Dress from Victoria V. To solve a severe case of EMS, I’m also wearing Michami’s white glam tank. I accesorized with the Long Drop Heart necklace in silver from Cailyn and the red linen stole mufler form Cream Shop. The boots are Jaywalk’s Melisande in Onyx.

The pretty skin is pin up from Soda, and the hair is Ginny, in Elika’s brown from ETD.

After all te holiday “violence” I welcome January as a calm month, to get back to my normal routine, to pick up where I left off when the December frenzy started. A comfortable and simple look is perfect for the wonderfully dull Sundays, which I have so dearly missed.

I started out today with the wonderful Makayla hair from Truth, in cranberry, which is vibrant as is, but I always like to ad a little fire to it by adding some plain orange. Then Hart was spamming me with PXL betas of the skin he’s working on.This is one of the much requested lips, wine, a luscious warm purplish red. The green Vnecknit sweater from DP YumYum, which I picked up this morning while TP-ing to get my CSR 2008 winter cards stamped (go for it, the gifts this edition are too cute) and the deep purple pants are a remainder of the holidays, being the pants from Casa del Shai’s Le Smoking Leopard tux (yes, for the guys.. but we pull it off better). Then, last but not least, the olive dune boots from Maitreya.

I’ve been working with Charron Marseille on some photo shoots recently and yesterday he suggested an outfit like featured in Ben Sherman’s 2008 autumn/winter collection. I’m pretty pleased how accurately it turned out with the crisp white Armidi Cambridge shirt, and Michami’s black Stella pants. Adding the black skinny tie from Muism, and the racer gloves from the Marilyn outfit from Emery, we’re getting really close. The black Mishima Dawn shoes from Maitreya are a stunning match with the real deal. Instead of the back pack, I went for the gym bag from LeLutka.

The hair is the smoked walnut GInza from Armidi, and the skin is a PXL Creations beta, so not available as of yet, but just the au naturel look that I needed to complete the look.

Bear with me as my PS is having some issues… won’t launch… at all ..and I cannot find the CD to re-install (yay for reorganising the attic), so I made this with The Gimp, and I’m so not used to that. Hope to be back to normal soon.

So since this is probably my last blogpost of the year: Happy and healthy New Year to all of you and your loved ones from my little corner of the world.

That being said, I started this outfit with the purple version of Michami’s Ida dress, then decided to wear the black Ida leggings with them, as well as the lavender shrug from Pixeldolls. The fishnets are from Awori Cassini. Do I even need to mention the biker boots? I think everyone knows by now that Viola Leigh makes killer shoes for the Redgrave label, and the jewelry is from Siyu Suen from Illusions.

My hair is Cleo, from Exile and my lovely Angel skin is from Adam ‘n Eve.

The other week I picked up this black jacket at Zullay and since the cleavage is a little over generous to be worn stand alone, at least for my taste, I started to look for options to make it more wearable for a day to day look. As a whole I think it turned out to be quite a “gamine”, yet very feminine look. Other than Zullay’s jacket I’m wearing Cachet’s Dietrich short and colourable tie. The plaid pants are Stewart, from Muism and the very feminine heels to go with it all are Storm Schmooz’ Desir de Noir.

The skin I’m in today is La Sylphide’s Erin and the hair, with hat, is Claudette, from Novocaine.

You don’t need to spend a whole lot of money to look classy for that New Year’s ball. I went for the Viennese Debutante look with the Sophisticate gown from Blaze, which is in the discount section for a mere L$ 100 and dressed it up with the feathery attachments from BareRose’s Renarde outfit, and Persona’s black Helena sash. The gloves are from Fleur, they were a sim opening freebie, so they are not available in the shop, but the ones that come with Blaze’s gown or Renarde are just as beautiful. It’s just that I am addicted to the soft white leather texture of the Fleur gloves, so I like to wear them on any possible occasion. Put a classic white pump under this gown and you’r good to go. As a finishing touch, I have picked the Firebird necklace and earrings that Dexter Bachman made for Nonna Hedges.

The ultra classical no bangs bun is from ETD, which is meant to wear with loose bangs, but the shape of my skull is so that without the bangs it just looks like a total ballerina bun and the skin is Linda from PXL Creations (coffee lips, dark eyes).

I admit, I laughed a little when back in October, On SLRevolution Rosie posted How Much is Too Much. No waywas I going to spend 3999 L$ for a doll avatar… No way! No, really… ok….. laugh….laugh at me… laugh at me hard, because today I gave in to The Abyss’ Opium v1. She’s a fierce doll though, comes with a normal and a battle skin, a cool katana blade, a katana AO, a fighter HUD (not that I ever fight in SL, but oh well…), gorgeous hair and the most adorable grungy boots!

And that’s really what this post is about, because they are at the base and top of my outfit today. So from the feet up this time, I’m wearing Maitreya’s sculpted black socks (modded) and Truth’s Xanadu legging in blue under DP dramatic brown skirt. The short knitted cardigan and the top under it are from Dutch Touch and the scarf is from Massimo. The gloves are part of Opium v1. The skin is Linda, from PXL Creations and the hair, which I’m possibly even more smitten by then by the boots is past of Opium v1 again.

Shai absolutely did it again, with her latest Cabaret themed Mein Herr outfit she has created yet another gorgeous outfit. But I’ve never been fond of musicals, life ain’t NO cabaret, and so I’ve turned it into a fierce, but totally hot, look of the day.Using the amazing bowler hat from Mein Herr, as well as the sexy vest, I paired it with the work New School black jeans from Torrid, and the slinky stilettos from Maitreya. The jewelry is from Icon, and the stout designs makes the whole look yet a bit edgier. The gloves are from the Marilyn outfit at Emery.

The hair is Maitreya’s Sunday in natural blond (heavily modded to fit the hat), the tattoo is Cherry Blossom from Aitui and the skin is MMS Roma light make up 7. The red nails are from Fleur

I found this funny X-mas Elf outfit in my inventory that Lo Jacobs of Church of Luxe sent out to her group and whereas I don’t see myself all elved up, the blouse of the set is actually really cool. I’m wearing it with Nyte ‘n Day’s Vestige skirt, and Persona‘s Helena waist sash. The deep dark red Rodeo boots are from Adam ‘n Eve and are totally AO friendly. The glass chunk necklace is from Shiny Things.

The skin is another X-mas group gift, it’s Celebrity from M&R Cupcakes and the hair is Chloe, from Maitreya.

Hart Larsson has made a special “frozen” version of Linda for his group. It’s for grabs in the shop if you are in the group and have PXL Creations in your picks (if you are adding that now, please allow up to 48 hours before active due to server refreshing). Don’t wait too long, after the holidays this beautiful make up will disappear forever. Exile‘s Holly, in snow, is an elegant, festive updo that fits the look perfectly. I’m wearing it with Nicky Ree’s Snow Queen today, which is not exactly a new release, but I love this gown for the season and the finishing touch is Random Calliope‘s amazing Ice Queen jewelry.

Wind of Change

So close to the end of the year, there will be some changes in my little shop Grapevine in Rue d’Antibes, but more on that when things are more laid out. While working on it, I have marked my current shapes down to 200 L$ (so that’s a 50% down). The current shapes, Linda, Crys, Inès, Deborah and Steve will retire once all the preparations for the new things are done, so get yours while they are still there.

All shapes are copy/mod/no trans, so no refunds apply. Try a big foot/big hand demo before you buy, and check the textures that come with the demo to see how the shape works with different skins.

And then there’s the poses…. I’m not sure what to do with them. I have lowered the price of the packs some time ago, hoping that would stimulate me to finish the new ones, but truth is, I’ve been blogging too much, and creating poses too little. Packs of 10 poses are still 250L$, single poses are now 40L$. I may just retire all of them in a bit, and perhaps bring some new ones in spring.
