Look at these luscious, ultra feminine, sexy new hairs from Exile!!! I can’t pick my favorite this week. I am so happy though that Kavar made a Deanna 2 (right) which is a loose style, as opposed to last week’s Deanna updo. I’m also very pleased with Alessa (left) a semi updo, the top layer of the hair casually tied together on the back of the head and April (middle) is just really very sexy. I wish I were better in describing hair, but apparently it’s a part of my English that is lacking. However…yes, it;s going to be a great hairday again.

Good furniture, and I mean “Good” furniture is hard to find in SL, while some creators really put a lot of effort and creativity in their work, mostly you find the same pre-fab sculpts, textured badly and put together, no offense to anyone. NOTsoBAD has been one of my favourite stores for quite some time, be it builds or furniture, the quality has been exceptional and the designs, exquisite.
Today I wanted to review one of the new releases, ASPEN set, by NOTsoBAD. The set contains 2 deck chairs, 1 table and 1 parasol. They are all scripted for color changes and pose adjustment, a wide variety of colors are available from dark to light and bright shades. The texturing on the furniture is very fine, the sculpts are nicely finished and hold out even when zoomed out. The shadow work is nice and provides some nice added eye-candy, yet In my personal opinion I find the shadows a tad bit too sharp. The table in the set holds a magazine, some much needed sun-screen and a drink! The set is perfect for setting up outside and catch some sun with some pretty gals!
I absolutely love working with Grazia, she is gorgeous, has a great sense of style and well..she is gorgeous! She helped me so much with this review, the location is her private hideout, where she landscapes often and creates some beautiful scenes, she setup the whole scene for this shoot and well, helped me with her gorgeous presence!
Phew…the sun and well, the hotness Grazia is radiating, made me sweat, glad im not wearing much!

Just a quickie to share Reek’s latest release and Flowey’s lovely new skybox “Hide me in your pocket” with you.
Flowey’s Flutter Memel is a sweetheart. She’s one of my favorite (but currently not adding new) posemakers, and recently she caught the building virus and now she makes lovely, dreamy skyboxes. Riq Graves, from Reek is my go to creator for quirky well made stuffs. Last weekend he released these cowboy hats with 2 different hairstyles for the ladies (wearing Savannah) and also a hat only version which leaves you more freedom to mod your hair of choice to fit the hat. Also he made these saddle stools, with 6 animations, from cute and casual, to hilarious.

Lionskins has a new skin out, Nova, and while I was absolutely NOT impressed or even amused with her previous skin/collab with Leezu, at first glance this skin looks better again, more like the old Lionskins, like Cana and Zulu. So it was time for an up close and personal with Nova. Nova is available in 4 skintones from ultra pale, to pretty much African dark.
I tried the demos in pale and sun and eventually decided to go get a skin in the sun tone, so I could show you the skin sans demo signs and lines. Oh how I hate them, they emphasize seams that you might not even notice if not for the lines, but once you know where to look for them, even without the demo lines, this skin shows a few subtle seams especially around the ankles and the hips. The template edges on the legs are quite efficiently masked by a skin highlight, but in my opinion it is a bit too harsh.
From a distance this skin looks pretty good, but zooming in on the body, theres is a LOT of noise on the textures, especially on the back. A bit of graininess adds to a realistic look, but too much looks like you have a skin problem. The shading on the lower back and the bum on the contrary is quite delicious. Again, too bad for the noise.
I love the shading of the stomach area, toned, but not muscular. Pretty much the way I wish my own tummy would look like in RL. I really wish there was at least an option for a bellybutton piercingless skin, though. It is almost a dealbreaker for me, and I think this time will be the only time I have worn this skin with a bikini or undies. It’s going to be strictly PG, or high waist swimwear with Nova!
What I also wanted to share are the legs of Nova, but not because I think they are stunning. The knees look kinda old to me, the toes are so tightly placed on the template that it seems a toe is missing and on the back of the knees the shading is so dark that my first impression was varicose vein alert. But on second glance, the shading is just too contrasted.
Oh my, now that I am actually scrutinizing this skin, I see a lot of little things that irk me. I like thicker eyebrows, but hmm… it doesn’t hurt to use tweezers every now and then, and I think it’s ok to use a photo-base… but please… I don’t want pimples on my forehead… or pores on my cheeks… at least, not the huge ones! But… all that taken in consideration, I still like this face enough to spend 1k for this skin. Not in the least for the awesome vinyl lip gloss! Other little (but easy to cover up) issues I have with this skin are the highlights on the breasts, and the vagina, which… well… nuff said… try a demo if you want to see it.
Last but not least, I appreciate it when content creators offer a little extra, like in this case 2 versions of a hair add-on for the hairbase skin, but please, dear creatives of SL… make it matching to your hairbases, or a lot of people will run around the grid with awful hair, and that is NOT good publicity for either the skinner, or the hairmaker.
Sooooooo… yeah, you’ll occasionally see me in this skin, but I surely hope for a more refined and subtle V2 of Nova. As always, try a demo for yourself before buying a skin. My shape is quite a determining factor in how this skin looks on me, and the effect might be totally different on you.

This Friday is a GOOD hairday, with newness (yesterday) from Truth and just a couple of hours ago from Exile. Exile has 2 new styles out today, Candace, a bombshell do, shown here in Harlow (which is my fave blond texture from Exile) and Deanna (shown in kindred) which is a gorgeous loose updo with some serious bangs. A little bit less recent is Leslie, shown in whiskey, but I love it so much that I wanted to post it anyway. Leslie is right now available in 2 colors for at the Dressing Room and as everything over there ridiculously low priced!
Truth has 3 new out this week and caters to the long hair fans again with the retro-ish Lucille (worn in teal, yeah i know, i got carried away) which comes in a streaked version as well as a mono color version, Rayne, my fave of the week, adorably punky and also available in a streaked version. As an extra there is also a cute little bow to be attached. And then there is Iris, lovely braids with texture change beads (you can also make them invisible).

I was over at Barerose earlier and seriously… June Dion from BareRose is one of the all time most fabulous, consistent and creative content creators of SecondLife, who just is underexposed on the blogs. Maybe because she’s such a constant factor, that people tend to focus more on the novelties, but anyway, I got fascinated all over again with the incredible variety of fashion, fantasy, historical and just plain outrageous outfits, all under 200L$ for multiple colors.
Last year our resident vampire fashionisto, Winter Jefferson, started a BareRose appreciation week, which was a huge success. I wouldn’t go that far, but this week, I’d love to see a lot of you going crazy creative with BareRose outfits!
I have picked the Chimera Huntress outfit for this picture, combined with PXL Creations’s Efe skin and L.Fauna’s red Allure eyes.
