Alchemy Immortalis

Alchemy Immortalis is the brainchild of Alchemy and Immortalis Cyannis. Although apparently new to SL, their style and products are undeniably reminiscent of a great couple of content creators which recently decided to leave SL. And yet, It has a fresh touch, like starting over with a blank canvas. Aside from my recommendation to visit their, not yet finished, bed and breakfast sim Empress & Hierophant, I wanted to share the latest addition to their expanding medieval/renascimental jewelry line. The Ami amet deli pencet necklace is inspired by a 13th century French brooch, and is fully scripted. You can choose from a number of metals (Alchemy), and also customise the gems (Gemology). Also the script will let you resize the necklace, if required. What struck me in this piece is the intricate execution, the amazing textures of the cabochon gems and the baked shadow that is amazingly accurate.

Endless

Miskat Qinan, builder of Endless, has been venturing into the tiny prim twisting and created some jewelry. This it the Endless Black 001. The black series is designed to be worn by unconventional and fashionable guys, but it looks pretty good on a woman’s neck as well. It’s 125 prims of tastefulness… not bad mr. Qinan…. not bad at all. As we speak a new necklace in the female, white, series is in the making. I’ll post a photo of it when it’s available.

With the intention of keeping the jewelry line somewhat exclusive, Miskat decided for now not to set up a shop for the Endless jewelry line. If you are interested in acquiring one of his designs, please feel free to contact Miskat Qinan in world.

United Colors of Whippet & Buck

I mean… when did they finally decide it was enough? The Hykova tank tops come in 32 (!) wonderful colors… and on all the useful layers. The tops are the slightlest bit transparent, so that cute bra you’re wearing under it will shimmer through… unless ofcourse you’ll decide to layer up and wear more layers over eachother.

Beauty: raising the bar yet again @ Adam ‘n Eve

With the first skins of the Evolution line, sachi Vixen, (skin)designer at Adam ‘n Eve, has proven yet again that she’s by no means static, and still developing as a designer. With Evolution she shows that she has mastered the art of making flawless skins with high photo realism, which, although the grid is flooded with photoreal skins, is still an art. Check her skins for seams, or smudges… you won’t find them. After “Man Month” April, in May she’s back with yet another treat for the girls: Beauty. sachi, a blonde herself, told me that with all the skins she has been making, she had not yet done a real blonde one and that Beauty was about to fill that gap. I’ve had the pleasure of beta-ing Beauty, so I’m pretty familiar with her by now, but my initial reaction was that I thought she was gorgeous, and I only think so more now.

Beauty is available in 8 make ups. When sachi asked me about make up suggestions I could only beg her to keep it subtle. Shimmery glosses, hints of eye shadows, touches of colours… but please do not cover this beautiful face under harsh eyeliners, and bold colours. It would make her more “in your face” maybe, but it would also rob her of her Grace Kelly like elegance and chique. Thank goodness sachi shared my opinion on make ups, so all 8 of them, while still colourful and distinct, all have a transparent character… not covering Beauty, but merely underlining her.

Whippet & Buck have newness! Cozy sweaters in great colour combinations. So what if it is in the guy’s section…? It just looks good on me… and in RL I steal mr Horwitz’ sweaters all the time as well. At 130 L$ per sweater, these are just too good not to get.

I’m wearing them here with the Stein shorts, also from Whippet & Buck and yes, these are from the ladies department.

I’m in Adam ‘n Eve’s soon to be released Beauty (review to follow later today) and Truth’s new Zach hair (Golden).

Curio April 2, Bluebell

Gala Phoenix has made a second series of her succesful April skins, and although tempted to get another really reasonably priced fatpack, I contained myself *pets own shoulder* and stuck to Bluebell. The main reason for this is the the only thing that I really have an issue with as far as Gala’s skins are concerned, and that is the annoying difference between the face colour and the rest of the body. It makes me look like I stopped applying a foundation that is a shade or 2 too light for my skin, right up my jaw, instead of letting it fade out in my neck (aside from the error to want to apply a foundation that is too light, period) But ok, that put aside for the to die for doll faces I can’t refrain from wanting to have at least one or two from her releases.

For 1000L$ a skin, Gala offers quite a choice: 2 shades per skin tone, 2 versions of the make up, and freckles options for all 4, making a grand total of 8 skins per single pack.

Meet the pretty new faces of Candace, Ryker Beck’s new skin. After a succesful release of her first skin Eden, Ryker started working from scratch on this new skinline. She made 4 skintones for Candace, which has a more mature look than most of the skins currently available, and for now there are 8 make ups available. I think that my favourite skintone is Apricot, but they are all lovely.

Funk Schnook @FNKY! has released a new skin. A Female one… Angel, and I love it. It’s a very pretty face, with a more than decent range of 12 make ups and she’s available in 2 skintones, Medium and Sunkissed. I’ve picked the lighter medium skintone. Each angel skin (L$ 1499) comes in version A and B and body 1 and 2. A&B are about the make ups… B being more intense than A, which is more of a day version of the make up. Body 1 and 2 are referring to the shading being softer on one and more defined on the other skin, giving her a slightly more toned look.

It’s been a while since Ivy Graves started the work on her sim and her new skins, and the result of both is lovely. These skins have a fragile facial beauty and come in 4 skintones, and a plethora of make ups, from very natural to ultra dramatic. I picked up 3 of the 4 skintones and to the upper left you can see a skin with different eyebrows, Ivy sent that one to her group 2 weeks ago, and obviously there have been some change between than moment and the day of final release. Whereas I like the subtle look of the (non mod) eyebrows, I am a huge fan of adjustability, or, if one chooses to make a skin non mod, the availability of more hair colour options to chose from. The mouth of this skin won me over, it’s so pretty.

This is the ultimate spring dress. As we speak, Mimikri Kit is releasing this pretty. It comes in pink, yellow, baby blue (worn) and dramatic black… and they all share this prim skirt which is a sea of flowers and makes you H.A.P.P.Y

Surf & Co. skins

Baby Oil, SPF 4, SPF 15, Zinc Oxide… these are the names of the tones of the new skins that Emma Gilmour released over at Surf & Co. In her lovely mainstore on the Artilleri sim, she has these on display. They come in 8 make ups each, with fun names like Gone Surfin’ , Italian Ice and Flipflops. This is a skin with an ultra drawn, cartoonish look, it’s fun and it’s lovely.

You don’t want this skin for the body, not because it’s done badly, but because there simply isn’t much detailing. There are hints of shading, the belly and breasts actually done nicely, but without much detailing, and the same goes for the back. What is there in shading is done well, but it’s all vague. The lower body has even lesser detailing and shading than the upper body part, which is quite visible under the bellybutton. Not as a seam, but the skin texture just gradually fades out.

Do I mind? Uhm.. well, yes… I’d love to see a next version of these skins with a little more body definition. Do I regret spending 750 L$ per skin? Not at all! I like the faces, and they’ll be fun to wear!

Full Prim Lashes

I don’t know if this is a first, but Thora Charron from LeLutka has made 3 sets of full prim lashes that look amazingly real. They are not really suitable for day to day wearing, as they are really quite primmy and adjustment of the lashes does require patience and some prim shifting skills, but oh boy… do they look good in close ups…..

Chocolate et cetera

My long time friend Lucas just IMed me with the question “Chocolate or cookies?” Whilst normally such a question would cause me an existentialist crisis, today is very much a chocolate day, so that was answered easily enough. Next thing I knew he dropped a box of chocolates from Feather on me, which I find totaly adorable. Thanks Luc!! <3. This prim food does not attach to your mouth… but you wear the box of chocolates and on first touch the lit lifts and you can pick your choice of bon bons… when you touch the chocolate, it will appear in your hand and you’ll bring it to your mouth, then it will disappear again… and you can pick another one for your chocolate fix. “but Grazia….. there are only four… how will that ease your craving??, you’ll ask….. Aaaaah… my dear, that is the good part about this fine chocolate food that does not attack your hips nor will cause nasty break outs… once you empty the box, It will just replenish itself when you put the lit back on. And then you can start all over again… and again… and again… til your pixels are sated and the virtual endorphines will make you feel full of pixel bliss.

The et cetera in this post is dedicated to a little fundraiser that the people at Tableau have put together to help Toast get her long longed for sex change. Ok… rumours are her computer died… but that’s obviously way too normal a reason, considering the nature of the Tableau Troupe. So a sex change it is.. must been the longing to do in RL what in SL you can do in a minute… which I totally have every morning when stuck in traffic and really just want to TP to work… Oh right, I’m rambling… sorry… Anyway… At the central square you’ll find, among others, the pretty Bang Bang hair from Lamb! and the darling Blooming Roses blouses from Très Blah that I’m wearing here. Other contributors are Thimbles, Pudge and Pig. So don’t be cheap and go get some goodies and support one of SL’s most appreciated artists.

New @ Cupcakes!: Seduction

You may have seen this skin on me in the last couple of blogposts already, but I’m seriously infatuated with the pretty face of Mimi and Rosemary’s latest addiditon to their skin range. Seduction came, saw and conquered me right on the spot when I first put the wheat skin tone of the generous group gift on. Right now there are 10 make ups available for each of the 8 skintone, most of them are pretty soft and girly. Mimi and Rose have promised more make-ups though, and I am curious to see them.

I’m showing you the gift skin here, as I only managed just now to go to Le Zoo and pick up 2 more skins, the Natural and the Retro, which are yummy as well.
