Chai Eyes

Sometimes you just don’t know what you’ve been missing, until it’s there all of a sudden… like Launa Fauna’s new eyes. It’s a bit like prim lashes… I was perfectly all right before they existed, but I love them hard now!

These are not the first prim enhanced eyes, but Ms. Fauna has a knack for making them just right! They come in 2 versions, small and big pupil (showing the big here) and, if you don’t care for prim eyes, she also includes a soul prim, which basically is just the high light. Because even when you’re in the semi dark, your eyes will reflect the little light in the room.

Since MIriel closed her shop, I have been looking for a good alternative for my all time favourite eyes, but until now I didn’t find them. They all are either too dull, or have too much highlights sprinkled all over the eye, and I’ve never really cared for prim eyes, but….. These might just be my new peepers!

Yeah, I’m slowly making my way back to pose making, although I’m not yet sure if I’m going to open up Grapevine again, or sell them in any other way. But I’m having fun at it, and I decided to combine the lotd with taking some pics of yesterday’s pose results.

I’m wearing the lovely new tweed skirt from Ibizarre with the black long vest from fri.day and the alabaster Cole boat neck sweater from Whippet & Buck. My stockings are from the Barbara lingerie set from Insolence and the current best boots on the grid are from Bax Coen. The necklace and hand worn rosary are from Naith Smit.

This 60’s look is one of my favourite all time looks. The grapic design of the dress, in RL so stunningly represented by designers like Pierre Cardin or Paco Rabanne and of course Mary Quant has been translated to wearable Mondriaan (Falling for Piet Mondriaan) by Marleen Vaughan from Marlys. The notecards Marleen writes up for her designs crack me up and you really should read them! They’re a good giggle! I’m combining the dress with Michami’s black Noomi jacket, the black wide waist belt from fri.day (I think it’s my favourite item from that shop, they really ave an amazing fit!) and Bax Coen’s black Prestige boots. My glasses are the Ultimate Bugeye Glasses from Fashionably Dead.

Aaaand, we’re back to one of my favourite colour combinations ever… black and lime! I’m wearing the new long vest from fri.day with the black New School jeans from Kari/TW. The lime bits are from The Closet (green Hemp scarf) fri.day (green Wide Waist belt, prim, with an amazing fit!) and Maitreya (the slinky lime stilettos, classic and versatile). Last but not least, I just read that Dakota Buck frm Whippet & Buck has signed up for the upcoming edition of Jewelry Fair, and I can only be excite, because the cute Whippet necklace (unreleased as of yet) which I’m wearing is her creation!

Truth is a mean bunch ‘o pixels…not only does he effectively seduce the majority of hair savvy women to (almost weekly) spend a large amount of their budget on his products, he also just keeps improving the hair, and every release is yummier than the previous. I love this week’s like WHOA! I decided to pick some red shades this week. Dutch Touch: Mauve

Dutch Touch designer Iki confessed to me, after she showed me a photo of her current skin project, that she has become addicted to making skins. I still have to show you her latest release, Mauve, sister skin to Dune, with 15 lovely make ups, and available in a lighter skin tone range than her predecessor. Mauve doesn’t have the dark tanned Cocoa, but instead it has the almost porcelaine Cotton skin tone. I’m showing you the caramel skin tone. Please click on below pic to start a slide show. Also, Mauve comes in a freckled and non freckled version! I’ve chosen to only show you the freckled versions since they are really well made and fade out over the upper body.

The skins Atomic creator Ivy Graves has been working on for so long have been released. Of Hope and Faith there were already some pre-releases, but the 3rd skin, Grace, is a lovely suprise. To be honest, I think it’s my favourite of the  3. the Moire pants from Meriken & Co, are so totally adorable. I wear them with about anything. In this case tough I’ve picked the Cole boat neck top in alabaster from Whippet & Buck, with the Dark Side t-shirt from T-Junctionand, to show that you can wear them easily with casuals as well, the Maitreya Gold Shanti shoes in cherry.
The Sarayi earrings are from Zara, and the Hathor Garden tatoo is from the Garden of Ku.

I don’t have to wear business attire when I go to work… but this would be a tad too casual. Too bad, because I’d love to wear this in RL today, since it’ll be another hot, sunny day here. It’s the Colleen dress from Surf Couture in brown with the nude On Stage jeans from Mimikri. I’m wearing them here with Surf Couture’s brown freedom flops,which of course is a total no go for work… but I really love my flops in SL and I should have just bought the fatpack, instead of keep going back for more! I’ve accesorised with Zaara’s silver Urvi earrings and dito Patra bracelet.

I’m wearing Exodi’s Fusion Crossing Exclusive skin (Dove, Hybrid light brow, faded) and Truth’s Lisa in Ivory (tinted the cap, adding a little brown to the grey to match the dress)

Weeee… Kavar just released new hair! 2 styles.. Angelica, a sexy long style, coming in 2 options… with a spine attachment for the extra full, wild manes and Sylvie, a sleek bob, with a couple of semi transparent prims to adorn the face as if the hair were casting a shadow on the face. Lovely and subtle effect. Kudos for Mr. Cleanslate @ Exile!!

Weeeee! I’ve stamped and redeemed all my SummerChoice2009 cards, and even gave away some to friends. Really, these stamp ralleys are a thing I always kinda look forward to, because of the amazingly cute gifts that the participants make for it. Like these trousers from Anuenue. I’m wearing them with the Hykova buttoned tank top in Olive Drab from Whippet & Buck, and Surf Couture’s navy freedom flops. The Maco necklace is from Pdiddle.

Things That Make You Go.. OMGWTF!?

Last year Linden Lab decided to update some of the default (library) avatars and invited content creators to send in their offers. People like Nylon Pinkney and Sachi Vixen are among the creators who have made these new avatars. It was good to finally see some better noob avatars, after all, it’s not like Second Life is still brand new, but the default avatars were still the first set, I believe.

Unfortunately, ever since, Sachi, and possibly also the other creators of the library avatars, have been receiving messages that residents found ripped content, showing them as the creator. Apparently these  f*ckers ( pardon my French) rippers  use the library material to paste their stolen stuff on, thus covering their identity and at the same time tarnishing the reputation of some of the most appreciated creators around. Sachi often receives messages from people who found  ripped stuff on Xstreet and ask her how come she’s ripping other creators. Well, let me tell you one thing, she’s not, nor are the others!

Linden Lab could easily solve this issue by making the content in the library non transferable. After all, it is available to all of us already, so why does it need to be full perm? Pick it up in the library, it will go to your inventory, and there it should be copy/mod. If you mess up, repeat procedure. Instead, if you want to create something new, then you go to create>new “whatever”> etc etc in your inventory. That way, credit where credit’s due… even if it’s the questionable credit of being listed as the creator of stolen stuff you’re trying to get on the grid! It’s something the creators clearly have not realised at the time they got the assignment, or they would have, without any doubt, asked for a better protection of their names.

Happy summer weekend! I’m wearing this cute little Dock dress from Surf Couture. Emma Gilmour makes way too many cute things… she’s the plague for my L$-balance! Other than that I’m wearing the blue leggings from the Glitter Tube & Leggings outfit from Michami, and have tinted the white Ebba scarf blue to match. Then I headed over to Shiny Things, because of the Kelly sandals and I also got her Recycled set in black, of which i’m wearing one of the cuffs ( I picked up some more tings, but that’s for another time)

I’m wearing Launa Fauna’s soon to be released Chai Nova skin in a nice tan, and Truth’s new Megan hair in Espresso.

Happy Hour @ 5th & Oxford

Well, somewhere this weekend that is. There is an upcoming new set of Audrey skins, called Cocktails, with some really, really nice make ups and, also new, is this lovely cocktail dress in 6 yummy flavours colours. Roslin is developing some serious skills for making clothes, her textures are gorgeous and the obi-ish belt is such a lovely detail. While switching from dress to dress, I noticed that mixing and matching the belts with the other dresses does give really cute results as well, but, this being a lovely basic dress, you’ll find it so easy to combine with almost anything in your inventory.

There are 6 dresses, and 6 skins (in 3 skintones, as usual) and the aim is to have them released tomorrow at 5th & Oxford, so keep an eye on the blog!
