Though not as insanely hot and humid as during the weekend, summer in the lowlands is still more than present. And hence nothing better than something hot, to keep you cool, like this new Xotic dress from House of Hucci. The necklace, which is really pretty, is part of the dress and holds up the draped fabric on the stomach area. I am wearing the dress with Bax Coen’s brown prestige boots, and PXL Creations’ Candy skin in tan (out now) and Kin’s black Cricket hair.

How’s this? Sweet, huh? I got the note from Betty Doyle from Ingenue that she released this adorable Pivoine skirt and that the bustier featured in the ad is soon to be released. But I didn’t wait for that, instead I got this vision of matching the Pivoine skirt with Whippet & Buck’s Rachelle Cropped Bustier. I think the result is simply adorable. The thin black belt is from Elate (on the jacket layer).

To avoid sweetness overload and instant tooth decay, I’ve picked the black prestige boots from Bax Coen to wear with this outfit. The black Keira ribbon is from Dela.

Today’s skin is Lelutka’s Ife (light, make up 6) and Truth’s Nadia in Champagne (retexture hairband included) is the finishing touch.

Just a quick look, with a touch of Mardi Gras in it. Earlier today the Lelutka Update group received these Jest Away leggings, and I’m wearing them with Fri/day’s black Comfy Cardi and Nyte ‘n Day’s grey Spun tank (it comes with black and white laxce!)

I decided to wear the red suede Prestige Boots from Bax Coen with this, which were a lovely gift from my dear friend Jori (thanks, kitten) and added a few more red accents with the Cord Wrap Necklace from Illusions (colour change on touch) and the flowers in Fashionably Dead’s Rainy Day hair (colour: Solo Dancer).

I’m smitten with Dutch Touch’s latest release Maan, and I’m wearing the Carmen make up today.

Slurls, as usual, can be found here.

I decided to post a couple of themed looks in one, because there is too much newness finding my inventory lately. I’m seriously backlogging on things. So  from left to right:

Zena. Zena is from a new to me brand, Hyper Culture. They have some nice stuff out, although there is room for improvement, like on this dress where the upper body part and the pants layer textures do not align as well as one should want to, but over all… isn’t this just a darling LBD?  Other credits:

Gloves @ 5th & Oxford
Verve pumps (not visible) @ Maitreya
Crystal earrings & cuff @ Dark Mouse
Little Miss veil @ 5th & Oxford
Roos feather (caramel) skin @ Dutch Touch
Rio hair (Marilyn) @ Lelutka

Dina is a giftie from Valena Glushenko to the Lelutka update group. It’s a very body concious crinkled strapless dress. I’d love to see this in more colours too! Other components to this outfit:

Black leather open shirt @ Aoharu
Prestige boots @ Bax Coen
Alkahi Dew jewelry @ alaMood
Ife skin(sunkiss, make up 3) @ Lelutka
Melissa hair @ Truth

Last but not least is Off the Hook from Sachi Vixen at Adam ‘m Eve. This is a really sexy dress… revealing, but not too much. I’m wearing it with the min skirt prim, because I wanted to stay with the theme of the other dresses, but it also comes with a very pretty longer skirt which is open in the front. It looks a bit burlesque like that. Other than that I’m wearing:

Black Sheared Mink Shrug @ Coco
ThighHIgh Boots @ J’s
Mapatano necklace @ Uzuri
Portia skin (Baroque, tone 2) @ Adam ‘n Eve
Nick Hair (Holy Golden) @ St.UW

Today I’m wearing Baiastice’s mono color grey tweed pants I don’t wear this brand often, I’m always having issues with their prim work and “busy” looking textures, but when it’s good… it’s really good! I’m combining the tweed with Michami’s fuchsia Maisie sweater and Madsy’s black fur gilet.

This cute colorful scarf is from Zeery’s and I found it during one of my trips to Rue d’Antibes. I used to have my little shop on that sim, and I still like goiing there. Bax purple suede Prestige boots make the finishing touch to this outfit.

I’m wearing Gwen from Dutch Touch Cream Breeze and Maitreya’s ash Sasha hair (Haiti relief fundraiser). I have tinted the hat a bit to match the sweater. I don’t wear prim nails often, but once fitted these pretties from SLink, they just really look good!

Martini Cocktail, originally uploaded by Grazia Horwitz.

I wanted to do something with the Holiday gift Martini dress which Truth had in the subscribo last week (it’s still there btw, if you have missed it, go to the central hall at Truth Hair, click the kiosk and retrieve it from history. It’s the 2nd archive notice), but I’ve seen it blogged so many times already and in so many cute ways, that it took me a while before I found my way of wearing this pretty little number.

Anyway, what I did was, I rezzed the skirt of Martini and unlinked the prims so I could delete the bow and the waistband and linked the remaining prims back again. then I picked it up again (it then goes into your objects folder, in case you can’t find it in the outfit folder). Then I rezzed the skirt of Paper Couture’s Lush gown (still available on xstreetsl.com) and deleted the opaque red long skirt and relinked the 33 remaining prims and took it back into my inventory as well (objects folder)

So, with the 2 modified skirts, and the top of Truth’s Martini dress, I have created a fun and festive party outfit. Semi formal, and worn here with Bax Coen’s suede purple prestige boots, for a more edgy look. The GORGEOUS “my Butterfly” necklace is from Pacadi Jasha. It’s one of those statement pieces which I love so very much.

I’m wearing Truth’s Anise in cranberry (hair band recoloured) and KA designs Vivienne (pale, make up 1)

Oh, and for the record… this is another mix up with the same dresses:

I know I’ve blogged the new dresses from Skin Flicks only days ago, but damn that Mavis MGettigan for having so much cute stuff which I totally love! This Casy Cascade sweater for instance… look at how she has drawn those folds, it really rocks, and the collar of the blouse that goes with it is so pretty. She made a combined attachment of the collars of both blouse and sweater (as well as single collar options) so that it will only use one attachment point. I like it when a designer puts that thought into her work. The Casy trousers are from Skin Flicks as well. It’s a combination of a skirt and a set of trousers. The skirt looks lovely on the vendor, but I had a hard time fitting it this time around. I’m wearing it all with Bax Coen’s brown Prestige boots, Fishy Strawberry’s brown Geisha leather belt and alaMood’s gold Athshe necklace. I just realised something about the belt, which, unconciously, I have noticed before in some Fishy Strawberry designs… it’s very photo compared to some of their other designs and that makes it sometimes hard to combine the items for me.

Like yesterday, I’ve stuck to KA Designs’ Sally skin, because it’s just lovely, and I’m wearing Truth’s Ann in the new champagne blond.

Until last week, I was oblivious of the fact that Kesseret Steeplechase, aside from jewelry, also has a growing collection of clothing under the brand name Hilarious. This Luna Jasper top it one of my favourite things from her store. I’m wearing it with the limited edition brown Tuxedo pants from Elymode, and Bax’s Prestige Boots. The Karmuka necklace and Ritu bracelet are from Zaara (bracelet is a Le.Look exclusive).

I’m wearing Dutch Touch’s basic Jolie Café Noir and Truth’s Piper hair (night)

A simple, basic look for today, very much like what I’m wearing in RL today. The turtle neck sweater is a group gift from Coco Designs, and the skirt (slightly tinted) is the 2811 black velvet skirt from Pixeldolls. Clothing that basic needs a little accessories, so I’ve picked Icon’s LF gold/wood necklace and Coco Designs’ double belt. My beloved Bax prestige boots are perfect with almost every outfit… but I really love wearing boots with a long skirt… so they were my first choice for today’s outfit.

I’m wearing Hannah, from Truth, in coffee and Tulli’s Bella in fair (Sophia make up), which, according to the latest news, Tuli has finished and will be released onFriday the 6th!!!!

And then about the ribbon I’m wearing… November 5th has been declared Step Up day… step up for content designers, step up against content theft. This is the short of it:

Step UP! is a campaign centred on a special day of action that everyone can become involved with, and that can empower and inform people about the problem of content theft, and what they can do about it.
We are aiming for a day that draws together action, education and celebration. We want a focus that empowers people and allows them to express their own creatvity in a variety of ways. It also draws attention to the strength of feeling that there is here on the grid.
Step UP! Day will be November 5th – Guy Fawkes Day or Bonfire Night in the UK.
Action:
a) On this day – no-one uploads textures to the grid. This should show the economic power of people acting together, without harming content creators. We want Linden Lab to see the power of the feeling about the problem of content theft – and to discuss urgently strategies for tackling it.
b) As many people as possible wear an orange ribbon as a sign of support for creators.
Celebration:
The day ends with parties. Bonfire parties. That means that all around the grid, people have parties.
We’re encouraging every club to hold a Step Up! party. We encourage every musician to play Step UP! events. Everyone on the grid has a part to play. Everyone can take part.
Read more about it here. There are various initiatives against content theft going on this week, but Step Up is the one I choose to support.

Halloween @ Exile, originally uploaded by Grazia Horwitz.

No pumpkins on my blog… No trick or treats at my door, no costumes in RL… it’s just not that big of a deal here… although… some people, retail shop owners mostly, want to make us believe that Halloween is the next Sinterklaas in the Netherlands… well… nah… I love my Sinterklaas, and in a few weeks we’ll have the kids at the doorsteps for St. Martin, which is one of the winter/begging feasts here. But I could not resist posting Kavar Cleanslate’s cute and sassy Halloween costumes for Exile. the Slut rule Bunny, Cat & Mouse were created last year, and are back in the shop for the occasion, and the Mistress of the Law, is a new costume this year. All hair is from Exile, skin by Pink Fuel and the ankle boots are from Bax Coen.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who kinda resents the import of Halloween to the European mainland.  I have an Ana by my side ❤

So Many Styles participates in the Designers United event with this beautiful Crow jacket. I’m wearing it with Madsy’s peplum skirt (sans system skirt), Blowpop’s fishnet stockings, Bax’s red Prestige boots and fri.day’s red wide waist belt. The clutch is from Icon and the hat comes with the lovely Tarry hair from Tukinowaguma. I’m wearing the soon to be released Duch Touch Jolie Ruby in the Sky make up.

I was playing around some with this blouse from the BareRose Chidori Habit outfit, because it comes on the undershirt (tight) layer, as well as on the loose shirt layer. The undershirt is also longer than the shirt, and wearing them together, you have actually a perfect blouse to wear with a high waist skirt, or trousers, like I’ve picked. Actually, I’m a bit mean, because the slacks which I’m wearing are from Last Call, so no longer available, unless you find the Ingrid outfit somewhere on on a yardsale. If you do, and have not previously owned any pieces from Last Call/Dazzle by Ginny Talamasca, buy it, ok? just buy it!
Anyway, so that’s BareRose and Last Call as a base for the outfit, paired with the bright pink wide waist belt from fri.day, and the black Prestige Boots from Bax. The earrings and bangles are Sarayi and Indra from Zaara.

I’m wearing Lelutka’s Eclat dark (make up 1/hairbase) and MADesign’s Army Crop hair.

Wear grey for a day is a way to raise awareness for brain cancer, so it’s something I gladly participate in. It’s such an intangible disease and it affects so many people, that the more people are aware , and are willing to support one way or another, is worth the effort since the best way of beating brain cancer is early detection… and for that, people need to know about it.

So, grey is key today, starting with an Armidi base of their Kogo skinny pants and the white Cambridge shirt. On top of it I’m wearing the grey Julian Argyle cardigan from Church of Luxe. Jewelry is the black pearl set from Paper Couture and I honestly don’t know if it’s still available. I’m also wearing Bax Coen’s black prestige boots and Coco’s black leather belt.

Today’s skin is Dutch Touch’s Cleo in Apricot Punk and I’m wearing Truth’s Rose in silver.
