Serendipity

With all the newness that hits the grid on a daily base, one would almost forget about the incredibly skilled designers that have been working in SL for a lot of time, and giving their best to the community. Last night as I went to a little impromptu event over at Sue Stonebender’s Comfort & Joy log cabin, it struck me again that she is one of those people that quietly works, makes awesome things, gives a lot to the community and is never featured on the blogs. Never? Well…… not like never ever… but hardly ever…. so I decided to dig into my inventory and see what Serendipity goodies I have in there that are nice to share with you.

Sue’s designs are mostly great classics… (emerald cut) diamonds, and other precious stones and pearls combined with excellent metal textures. But she also has a nice section of celtic and contemporary jewelry that won’t disappoint you.
Above is the Estate jewelry, emerald cut sapphires adorned with brilliant diamonds. The pendant is on a string of antique ivory pearls, that wonderfully drop down your back. The sapphire does have a touch for on/off sparkle. It is available with a lot of different gems.
This photo shows the Chatelaine set. The Chatelaine is one of the most classic pearl sets that you can imagine… a pearl choker with a teardrop pearl pendant… and teardrop pearl earrings.
The Evangeline is more of a show off. An elaborate pendant of birthstones (scripted for changing) encrusted in diamonds. The earrrings come in different versions. I remember picking these because I think they look awesome on a sleek evening gown, as sole jewelry, so without the necklace or anything. Wearing the full set I feel over accesorised. But hey… for the photo it is ok.
The skin is Rosemar’s latest addition to the collection, in espresso. Don’t know whether Rosemary has released them already, but if not.. they should be shortly. The hair is ETD’s Tyra in ebony.

New @ GRAPEVINE: Bond Street

Greetings everyone. When a couple of weeks ago I was talking to Neferia Abel of Ivalde, one of my fave vintage designers, she brought up her wish for Twiggy inspired poses for some 60′s and 70′s clothes that had been in her mind. Now Twiggy being kinda, err.. twiggy and her signature poses being quite extreme, that posed an extra challenge. I told you before that what looks really good and edgy on a RL model, can be awful in SL and make an avatar look horribly tortured. But in the end, I have managed to make some translations (there must be another word for that, but I just don’t know it) of some of her poses and put them together in a set called Bond Street.
As usual the single poses are available at Grapevine in Rue d’Antibes for L$ 65, and the set of 10 poses for L$ 500.

I made a composition to show them to you…. but I realised too late one pose is missing… There’s really 10 in the set.

Feel The Love… Sale in Rue d'Antibes Prolonged Til Tuesday

The opening of Rue d’Antibes was a huge success, the sim was packed… the limit was even raised to 60, and still it was packed all day long. Thank you all for joining us there.

Downside to the festivities… SL has been wacky again, and many of you have not been able to pick up the freebies or enjoy the sales. So our gracious land lady has suggested to leave the goodies and sale items out til Tuesday. A request I am more than willing to adopt.

So, til Tuesday, my dollarbie pose set (poses shown above) for the grand opening of Rue d’Antibes is still available in front of the store. As a matter of fact, I have just marked the pose sets (sets only) down to L$ 250. That is til Tuesday 9 am slt, or any time after that when I have the time to get in world. The lowered prices will not apply for gift cards that you may have received during the opening festivities.

Opening: Rue d'Antibes…. Party and Freebies

Today, after having postponed once before, Rue d’Antibes, the charming commercal Otherland sim, built by the über talented (and ever crunchy) Barnesworth Anubis, wil be officially opened. Most merchants will participate in the opening with a sale, or some freebies, and random goodies will be dropped on the visitors during the party that is going to have two time slots – one from 11am – 1 pm SLT and another one from 4pm-6pm SLT. The sim manager plans on being there during the gap to do random giveaways to customers in the sim. I have donated some L$ 500 gift cards for that purpose.
Yours truly retired the freebie Parfait shape, as I told I would, but for this weekend only I have put out a box with a Rue d’Antibes Opening mini pose set for only L$ 1. It is just outside the shop. And it will be there only for this weekend. Later next week, it will merge with some other poses in a full set and they will be available separately for L$ 65 and in a set of 10 for L$ 500
