More Than Meets the Eye

Living in Pakistan, I have been witness to the plight of the affected people firsthand, Thanks to ALLAH, I have been safe but others have not been so fortunate, houses have literally been uprooted, swept away. The very soil off lands has washed away, leaving infertile acres, making the people homeless and jobless. Parents have been separated from Children, several, never to be found again. The disaster has hit the rich and the poor alike, the rich, perhaps having the means, may recover more easily than the poor but the majority needs help, food, clothes, rebuilding, support..it is much more than any one man, community or nation can do, hence it requires that all of us make an effort, however much we can.

Truth Hawks has earned my utmost respect for his initiative to start up a project, several creators have put out their best items at the Project Donate Sim, the proceeds of which will go the UNICEF fund for relief. All the contributors have been supportive and may their effort be appreciated by all.

Project Donate starts off today, but I have been making the trips since a few days now, I actually wanted to camp there to catch my favorite creators when they come to put out their stuff! Unfortunately I could not materialize my plan much, but I did get a few snaps!

Above you can see some of the pictures I took with my favorite designers who I could catch at the Project Donate Sim! Reminding again, the Sim is open now, a lot of great items, the Sim has color coded sections so people don’t get lost, it is minimally laggy, I recommend everyone pay it a visit and contribute towards a worthy cause! The Project Donate Sim will run from 4th to 19th September.

I have been busy lately and well, moody. Have not blogged because I was either caught up with RL or was drawing in any free time I got. Today I have decided to post about one of my favorite hand drawn clothes, from Whippet & Buck. I hadn’t shopped from the store in the past but my recent visit was a pleasant surprise, I found the designs very clean and warm. The colors were nice and so was the texturing, all in all, I ended up buying more items than I thought I would. I will definitely recommend the men to check it out, won’t be disappointed!

I am a very, very lazy person when I have to be. Specially in the Holy month of Ramadan, when we are fasting, I often can’t be bothered to get up and do anything other than praying and well, eating when the time comes!
Well, today I am going to be writing a little about the new furniture set from NotsoBad, it is called the Wilfried set, It includes one sofa, two arm chairs and one coffee table. The texturing is as good as always, impeccable. The set itself is a minimal, sleek lined design, nothing curvy or fancy really, just something I would like to put in a clean room, no clutter, minimal and relaxing. The set is fully scripted, the animations include single and couple, the colors are changeable with a mouse click and all colors are vivid and the detailed textures make them a joy to behold!

The set is a total of 36 prims, nothing hefty, it has transfer permissions so you can gift it to your husband, your wife, your neighbour’s wife or your mistress.

I think the set is worth it if you are into interior decor or just want to touch up your SL house/skybox, it should make for an impressive addition.

Today I am going to promote and blog about my country! Pakistan, located in South Asia, bordered by China, Afghanistan and India, got it’s freedom from the British after an ardent struggle, on 14th of August, 1947. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the founder of the nation and led the independence movement. Having a population of 170 Million, Pakistan has four provinces and the major cities are Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and Peshawar. A lot of physical diversity can be seen through the country, the Northern areas comprise of three great mountain ranges, the Himalayas, The Hindu kush and the Karakorum, below them are the Indus plains where agriculture is mainly practiced; to the west the land is arid but rich in natural resources and the South is bordered with the Indian Ocean. These physical features account for some stunning scenery, cultural diversity and a memorable journey through Pakistan. The culture is rich, the people hospitable and the land, absolutely beautiful! Being in a grim mood today, I decided to take pictures reflecting the same, life has it’s ups and downs yes but I believe composure is the key. We need to try to stay the same in both happiness and misery as far as our values and principles are concerned. If we let the sadness get to us, push us against the wall, change us, we will definitely lose, for sadness will have achieved its desired purpose. I’d like to quote as they say, ” The night is darkest just before dawn. ”

Coming to the stuff I am wearing, Firstly the Hair from MADesigns; I love the cap, it has good textures and is scripted for color change, the hair itself are nice and complement the style. The necklace and Piercings which are from .HoD. are new releases and I have added them to my list of favourites because I just love the design and the shading on them, they are available in two versions, I chose the one with white shading. The Hood and Pants are from Zoobong, again, some cool stuff and good quality over all. I am wearing the Veritas tattoo from my own store (of course) and the Tyson skin from Redgrave, let me know what you think!

I am feeling pretty Red these few days, I dont know why, but I just can not take the reds off me! So here I decided to put the very best of Red I could match with my favourite color, Black of course.

The Aoharu shirt is just too good, it is sleek, shiny, black and well, has red kiss marks on it! what else would you want? The pants from .44 caliber are pretty amazing, they are better than I expected, they come in two versions, shiny and matte, along with two sculpted cuff versions and a sculpted belt buckle. The hair from MAD are available in many colors, I took the black with red streaks, they are a little hard to adjust but I like the style. The gloves from Cheerno are amongst my favourites, they come with diamonds studded in them with various color options. The shoes are from HOC, I wear them more frequently than I would like to admit, they are just impeccable. The tattoo I am wearing is a new one which I have not released yet, it is a nice full body design, face included, which you can see in the pictures. I will let the pictures say the rest…oh well, you already saw them before reading this..nevermind..let me know what you think!

I was wanting to try the new Redgrave Skins and when I did, I totally loved the Tyson Skin, the deep tan is very alluring (for women I would assume) and well, it looks great, it does not have the bulging muscle shadows or huge abdominal muscles, the avatar looks fit rather than a professional body builder! I am wearing a very nicely made jacket from Mr.Poet with good sculpted parts and a nice fit. Zoobong makes some stylish pants and these Gym fleece pants are perfect for the sporty/casual look.

The hair from JP:dsg really took the cake for me, very very stylish, coupled with great menu options such as the color of the beanie and the buttons along with the option to reduce the beanie to a visor. The dread locks look pretty amazing and not so bland as some other similar hair styles are. The Ramesh aviators from Reek are a joy again, very simple yet cool, these come with a HUD which can be used to change frame, highlight and lens colors etc, nicely customisable.

The piercings and necklace from Mandala are fine pieces of work, nicely textured, great detail, a must have for accessory buffs. The finger tapes from Luck Inc are a nice add-on and are available pretty much for free. The tattoos are my own, the face tattoo being the most recent release.

Sometime back I saw the very funny movie, “The Hangover”. The idea of waking up in the morning, not remembering anything of the night, not knowing how you got where you are, why you look like you do and well, wondering where the hell was everyone else; sounds pretty funny, long as it’s not you! This time, it was my avatar…at least the lipstick on the body is one relief..

Mr.Poet has some great messed up shirts, a lot of prims, but they sit well. I picked up the shirt and pants, both from Mr.Poet, the pants were surprisingly better than I expected, very nice texture and an excellent belt. The hair from Soap are probably my favourite for now, appropriately named, “Hangover”, messy hair along with a tie tied around the head, the tie is tintable so you can choose any color for it. The texturing on the hair could be better, but it is by no means a downer. The location is the very nicely made Truth Fashion sim, it has such nice textures and I really loved the alley with the dumpsters! Thank you Grazia for showing me the sim!
