Skins: Yummies From Aura and The Body Co.

Any day that I try on 2 skins right after another and get twice the “oh wow” feeling is a good day!! It’s what happened today over breakfast when I tried on Aura’s Briar and then heard of a new skin at The Body Co. and found Lilac. With a wee tweak on the mouth from my default shape (which I wear with PXL’s beta skin Kate), I think these 2 skins look pretty fabulous on me.

Dana @ Très Beau

I love Kimmera Madison’s texture work for her creations at Tres Beau. It’s simply stunning. I was smitten with the gown she did 2 years ago for the RFL Fashion Fair (photo by Harper Beresford) so when she dropped some of her work on me last night, I was like… yeah, kid in a candy shop, or something similar. Happy happy, anyway! From the outfits she passed me, this one, Dana is my favorite. It’s so elegant, a tad historical, it reminds me of when the ladies still had lady saddles for horseback riding. Everything you see comes with the outfit, except for Lassitude & Ennui‘s Selene boots. I’m wearing Glam Affair‘s Linn skin and the platinum hair base from Boon

Monday Monday

I’m cold in RL today, so in SL I compensate with wearing a fur trimmed coat from Mon Tissu and their mesh Oxford pencil skirt. When I pretend that fri.day‘s basic turtleneck is of a soft merino wool, I can actually feel it getting warmer. Stupid, no? Maybe it is just the temperature of my notebook in my lap.  The Charlie boots from Ju Weissnicht are still my fave meshies. They are so versatile. From Très Blah is the tartan wrapped up scarf and my glasses are from Mr. Poet. Glam Affair made my Linn skin and today’s hair is Alexis, from Truth

Navy & Khaki

Navy & Khaki is one of the most classic combinations in fashion. I am wearing Baiastice‘s Shirley mesh sweater which is a total steal right now at The Dressing Room with Mon Tissu‘s Westbury skirt in Khaki. Also from Mon Tissu are the navy wool tights, which I made a little bit darker. Mieke riding boots from SLink are just perfect for me, so I wear them a lot.  Linn from Glam Affair is one of my current favorite skins, so I am wearing today, with make up no. 02, which has this classic Paloma Picasso red lipstick. Also from The Dressing Room is the Josie hair from Exile, and my only accessoire with this look is the Dano ring from La Gyo.

Happy Happy

The colorful outfit does not necessarily reflect my mood, but I just love the bright sunny colors. I am wearing My Overall from Monso (which is a new brand by the creator of The Sweetest Goodbye) with the hot pink Cole boatneck top by Whippet & Buck  and Lassitude & Ennui‘s new and pretty awesome Selene boots. For another yellow accent I am wearing Mr. Poet‘s freebie Wide Scarf. A matching make up is provided by Glam Affair in their Linn skin line (Natural,  make-up 06) and the new mesh hair Cherilyn from Wasabi Pills is too cute not to use!!

52 weeks of color: Iron

Now we’re talking colors I can work with!! I’m wearing Beetlebones‘ slouchy suspender pants (mesh) combined with Kyoot‘s white Soft Resolution top and the grey bikini top from d.select. The bangles are from Luc’s (Lucas Lameth) who still has a little shop open in SL despite my dear friend is barely around these days, and the necklace is from Yummy. I love these British Loafers from Redgrave. I wish they would update them for V2 or even make them in mesh. The Natasha hair is from Es-kimo. Lovely sharp cut bob, which i just barely tinted because the white I am wearing these days from Es-kimo is a bit too bright.

Stylish in SLink

Combine my fascination for mesh with my love for great textures and you won’t be surprised that SLink is one of my go to brands! Today I am wearing SLink‘s Marigold winter coat which is their offering for this month’s Collabor88 with her Ladies dress pants in red and the new Suede Wrap wedges. Combined with Bitch‘s houndstooth mesh bag and ditto sunglasses it’s a pretty stylish outfit. You don’t need much to glam it up, but I am wearing the Water over Wine ring from Paper Couture. The feminine bob hair is Chika4 from D!va and I am wearing Sakia from Al Vulo with their cherry lipgloss

Ophelia

Just a moment of vanity, dressing up of the sake of dressing up. We all have those moments, no?  I am wearing one Bliss Couture‘s latest gowns, Nayade, with a delicate lace bodice and a bold feathered skirt. There is a reason I don’t wear many gowns, and that is that they are all build on avs with maxed out legs, which looks just weird in my opinion, but for the sake of this gown, I painfully stretched myself so I could wear it. I am also known for stepping on a stool to shoot gowns. It helps, but it’s a bit awkward. My plea to designers? Please… Include skirts for avs with, idk, length 60 legs, which seriously, is way more common than 100!!
Ok, end of mini rant, I’m also wearing the best white gloves ever made on the grid, by CJ Carnot from 5th & Oxford (though these are still labeled Tête à Pied, that’s how old they are). Unfortunately they are no longer available, but I will continue to use them anyway. Yes, they are that good!.
The choker is what gave this post its name, It’s Ophelia from Lassitude & Ennui. Miss Ennui is such a skillful creator and puts so much love in everything she makes. This choker comes with a HUD so you can change the colors of the pearls, the flowers, the ribbon and the lace to your heart’s content. Ever since she released it, which was for last year’s Fantasy Faire, I have been wearing it a lot. It’s one of my goto romantic accessoires.
Oy, I’m talkative today, you’re not used to that anymore, huh? Well, If you made it to here, you are probably wanting to know where the skin is from. It’s Sakia one of the new skins at Al Vulo, and my eyes are the warm silver ones from Fashism. Oh and the gorgeous braid  hair is called Yuri3 from D!va which is annoying because it’s no mod (resize script, yes)  but so lovely that I am wearing it anyway.

Thursday

A bit of a maritime look for today, possibly because while I was making this outfit, I was listening in astonishment to the crazy discussion between the captain of the wrecked Costa Condordia and the commander of the coast guard. Geez, there are some weird bananas around.
I am wearing The navy blue Lolong pants by Celoe with Emery‘s Top 2 and Beetlebones black Studded biker jacket. I don’t know why some people seem to think black and navy can’t go together, I think it works just fine in certain outfits. Maitreya‘s sangria Treaders are the perfect shoes to match this look. The Amylee hair from Catwa is really very nice. I am always a bit put off by the looks of that shop, but thanks Winter Jefferson for pointing this one out.  The long scarf is an oldie from Maitreya and the Nautical Charm necklace is from Yummy
